The Daiwa sealine’s are a much better real than the acudepth, if price is no issue.

The Accu-depth has not let me down with this being my 3rd season using my pair. Although, these are an economy model and are not built with the quality for the long haul as the Sealine series. If the majority of your time will be spent pulling boards I would suggest buying the Sealine due to better gears in this reel. Pulling boards puts a lot of continuos pressure on the gears.

I am sure others like Lip or Chris T. will chime in their experiences.

Sealines. Size 17 or 27. My main complaint on the Accu-depth reels is the drags absolutley stink. (IMHO)

I’m a sealine fan myself. I have a couple 27’s and a couple 17’s. The 17’s sure fit my hand better.

There is a also a Shimano you may want to check out. I’ll let Tuck or Lip Ripper chime in since they are running them.

If money’s no object………….go with the Shimano Tekota (sp).
The drags are very good unlike the diawa’s.

Shimano Tekota for sure if you have the extra dough. The drag and the reset are in another league compared to the Sealines. Slowly but surely I will replace all my Sealines with Tekotas……. If you do a lot of trolling I think you’ll agree that it was money well spent.

Does anyone have the TK300? If so, can you compare size of it to the daiwa 17’s? I’d like to get one but I want to make sure its not too big.

I use the sealines for salmon on L. Mich. and the drags perform smoothly. I believe a 20 or 25lb. salmon will test any drag in the class of the sealine 17 or 27 size. Am very happy with their product.

Jon, do you mean the drags will loosen up? If so, that is my only complaint. I guess the converse would be worse, but it’s still quite annoying.

I have ran both the accu-depth and the sea line. If it was my choice and money is not much of an issue i would go with the sea line. like mentioned before the drag on the accu-depth as a few issues but it could be tolerated.

I run Accudepth, Sealine and Shimano Tekota’s like Hook mentioned. If price is not a concern, that IS the go to reel. Simply flawless in design and durability. It is the reel I go to first.

I have added 3 Tekotas to my arsenal this year (2 500’s and 1 300). I used to and still do run the Cabelas Depth Master Golds. I have used many Diawa Sealines. With out a question the Shimano Tekotas are the best in a league that othes can’t touch. The smoothness, the drag, durability, and power of these reels are incredible. Holst just had a chance to use my yesterday and really liked how they handled cranking in deep crabnks and boards. He has been a die hard Sealine’er.
