Walleye Leagues and DNR Permits

Mn law is anything over 30 participants and/or $10 dollar entry fee, you must have a permit for each week for your walleye league. We had to fill out 10 permits this year for the Big Stone Walleye League. I’ve heard rumor that not all DNR districts are making the leagues fill out permits. Do any of you fish leagues with 30 plus participants (15 two man teams) and are you having to be permitted?

    Arnie,

That’s one of the reasons we cap our bass club at 25. Did they give you much flack or have to deal with only so many tournies per month, etc?

primarily the number of tournaments on Big Stone Lake per month. WWA and MWC(chamber tournament this year) are both in May so we can only do two nights of league. Mike, do you have 25 two man teams or 25 total participants. We have 20 two man teams so we have 40 “participants”.

The Ortonville Chamber of Commerce is putting a two day event together the third weekend in May to replace the MWC for one year in their absence. MWC has given the verbal commitment to be back on Big Stone Lake in 2003. Anyone who has fished the MWC is on the mailing list at the chamber and will recieve an entry and information in the mail.
