My father tried Bald Eagle, Forest Lake, and another water he couldn’t remember the name of, last weekend and didn’t do well at all. Anyone got any good crappie news from any of the metro waters?

Fishing has been somewhat slow. Best lakes for crappies for me have been the channel in Chisago late afternoon and early evening. Its been hit or miss, with more hits. Waxxies have been the ticket in daylight and minnows after dark. get away from the crowds as well.

The other lake that has been real good is S Center. I almost hate letting the cat out of the bag. There are an unbelievable number of crappies in that lake with any easy limit on 10 inchers the norm. All my fishing there is done during the day as well, no nighttime!! Spend some time drilling holes until you mark fish. Today we hads lots of fish cruising 8′ down. You would actually watch them swimming under your hole and hit your bait.
