Sorry I didn’t make it down there. When the weather man said mid 30’s today, I had to get in the boat!

Sounds like it was a good time.

    Hey Jon,

Was Hoping to meet you there, but things happen. Nate, as you could probably tell, yesterday fishing was not a priority for me, but most of you could probably outfish me on my good days. I have an old saying that if i’m catching fish everyone is catching fish. Hope your memory improves Nate, I remember last summer at a tourney borrowing my extra rain gear to a friend who had forgot his. Travel 200 miles and forgetting something is a bad way way to start off a day but you still caught a fish. Alot of us remembered everything and couldn’t catch one. Nice meeting everyone. Look forward to softwater season even more now.

Sounded like a blast, as was expected. Unfortunately could not make it though. I spent the weekend up on Upper Red chasing some big crappies. We have had this planned for a little while as well. Hope everyone had a good time. I am sure it was a big hit. I would have loved to been there.

What were some of the catches?

Here is “TGIF” of Owatonna, Mn. and the winning Striper!

“TGIF” was the winner of the EFN’s Annual http://www.fishthelake.com “Get-Together” Fishing Contest. He took the first place prize with this 2.4 lb. Striper. The fish were not biting well… it was tough going. TGIF got this fish early in the morning and not too many more fish were taken through the day.

As first place prize, “TGIF” won of a day of guided river fishing with EFN’s Pro-Staff member, Jim Wernimont. Other prizes that he took home were $25.00 in Hawg-EYE Floaters and Fireworks Jigs from B-Fish-N Tackle, and a Jabsco Sonic Builge Pump Control (see this at http://www.tmimarine.com.)

The contest was held in near 30 degree temps in Southern Minnesota, on Madison Lake, this January 5th, 2002

Jim Werimont will be contacting “TGIF” on a private message, to set up the guided trip. I must add that It was great fishing with and meeting you. Good job, nice striper! And Thank you Jim, for donating the guided trip!

EFN would like to thank the people and companies that helped to make the event go so “smoothly”! I thank all who came. A special “thank you” to Steve Hougom and James Holst – EFN owners, Tim Hukriede / Fold – A – Way Rod Holder, Berkley – Power Baits and Trilene Line, Jabsco – Sonic Pump Control, Jiffy Ice Augers, John Eggers – Big-Bow Spinners, Brett King – “H2O On The Go” Trolling Sinkers, Doug Gardner, Bob Carlson, Richard “Smitty” Smith, B-Fish-N Tackle, all EFN Pro-Staff members that attended and our EFN sponsors that include Yamaha, Crestliner Boats, Shorelandr Trailers, Froggtoggs, and Nautical Ease. Thank you all for your help and forgive me and let me know, if I have overlooked anybody.

It was wonderfull getting to put faces to the many names that we have all have posted with on FTL. In 2002, FTL plans to have this event “on open water” (Mille Lacs on full moon in October is my vote).

Thanks to you Hawger for making the FTL get together happen. The fish didn’t exactly cooperate, but I had a good time and it was great to meet some of the people on this board.
