Traveling up this friday and looking at crashing for a few hours in thunder bay. Any suggestions? Bare essentials, not planning on the Ritz. Thanks. Ted

I would highly recommend staying on the Minnesota side. ThunderBay is only a few minutes across the border. It would be much easier for you.

    Where is your final destination?

If it works to go a little farther north I have a place I stay at in Nipigon that is great.

The guy who owns the place has worked in the bush his whole life and is the greatest story teller ever.

There is a little place that my brother in law suggested one year that was all right. I’ll see if I can get the name for you today. The other place where we stay in all the time the Days Inn. It’s brand new and has free breakfast. Plus it has a huge parking lot that has security (for the boat).

Thanks guys. We found a place in kakabeka falls about 15 miles west of Thunder bay. We are heading to Ignace the next morning and wanted to get across the border at night so we wouldn’t be fighting the traffic at the border. Ted

I recommend that all of your Canadian money transactions are performed on a credit card. You will be assured proper money exchange with that method and you can purchase via Canadian dollar, not US dollars…….
