Is the fishing suppose to be better with High pressure or low pressure? Rising or falling? I can never remember. Thanks

I have not read the article yet. but my best fishing for the most active, and for the biggest (bass) for me has been with an incoming Low pressure and cold front. As the low approaches, the baro pressure will be dropping, and your cloud cover will be increasing with lowering clouds, and with winds will also be increasing. If I can get some scattered Thunderstorms in the distance with lightning ALL the better. If you do have these conditions you DO really need to be mindful of the rapidly changing weather conditions, and know when to get off the water. It has really helped me in my fishing to be a trained National Weather Service weather observer with the FAA over the last over 30 years.
Now I’ll go read the article and see what it says.
    good luck.

I have always found that fishing is best on days of the week that end in “Y”, the catching on the otherhand has been best during a weather change, such as with a storm front moving in.

I agree on the approaching fronts of high and low pressure especially if the previous front has been here along time. The change in pressure seems to make the fish more active. If its a fast change i don’t do good eighter way, if its a slow change its better. After a system gets here and stableizes is when i do the best.

This is the site I use for keeping my log enter your zip code

I mostly target Eye’s and Cats but, it holds true to the days I’m catching pannies for bait

Barometric Pressure holding in the area of 1000 – 1300 without spikes is good fishing. Over 1500 – 2000, fish to be had. Over without dropping is a tough bite for me.

Did I mention I would rather be ice-fishing anyways

PS: PS: The numbers I listed above are to the right of the chart.

Anyone else that keeps a river log and wants to argue the number……I would love it
