Digital Camera

I want to get a cheaper digital camera to carry around when I go fishing. I don’t want it to be real expensive because I mostly wet wade and if I slip and fall I would not like to be $200-$300 down the drain. I normally carry a disposable, but it takes (or seems like it) FOREVER to get all the pictures taken and then developed. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for what type/model I should get. I don’t need any of the real fancy gadgets on it or anything, just a simple one that will take good pictures that I can download to my computer after the outing.

    Thanks to all in advance,

I won’t get any camera under 3.0 Megapixels. Anything less and you just won’t be happy with the pciture quality that comes out.
I personall have a 5.1 Kodak Easyshare and feel that is very easy to work and download onto my computer. I was just looking at the sunday paper yesterday and there where some 6.1 mp around the $300 range

    Just my 2 cents.

Any 2 or 3 megapixel will be fine for picture quality.

I just picked up another tackel box digital camera it’s a Canon A410 3 megapixel it’s awesome $129 at Walmart.

    Good Luck.

I will agree 3.0 is the limit for me. But it all depends on what you are wanting to do with the photo’s. If you are just storing them for viewing on the computer or printing to a printer 3.0 will be fine. If you intend to do any high end photography or prints then you might want to go higher. Also about wading, I always put my camera, gps, phone in one gallon ziplock bags and then in my pocket or pack. That way if I get wet everything will not get water damage.

I believe if you can find a canon in your price range that you like you should definatly buy it. Out of all the cameras i’ve seen they impress me the most. I have a kodak that gets the job done but I would rater have a canon.

If you are really concerned about damaging ur camera while wading when you slip, you should consider the Olympus series. They have weather resistant and water resistant digital cameras that are good till about 10 feet of water. So if you slip while wading, it is unlikely to damage it unless u sink below 10 feet.

Check out their weather resistant range with waterproof bodies.

I think Stylus 720 SW should be perfect.

Price on the internet ranges from 314 to 399.

But try it at Best Buy or something before u buy tho’.
