No, not the Packers… the actual Bay. Just back from my first trip out there. What a great place. Man do they grow walleyes big out there.

We did pretty good for a couple of guys screwing around and having fun. We placed 8th in the Yar-Craft owners tourney. Got to give all the credit to my partner Darin who caught all of the fish! Thanks Man!

To give you an idea of the weights, we weighed 2 fish on Saturday for 9.62 lbs and 3 fish on Sunday for 14.90. Total of 5 fish for 24.52. Not a numbers bite, but an honest “On the Scale” five pound average aint bad. Got a 7 plus pounder both days.

The winners (Sorry, don’t have the names) weighed 5 fish both days for a total just over 50 pounds! We just needed to get a limit both days and we would have been right there. A tough bite for some. 20 boats got blanked on day one. It took us a while to figure out how to hook into fish laying on the bottom in 40-60 feet of water. That’s a lot deeper than this guy thinks to look for eyes. We got all of our fish trolling crawler harness rigs with fairly large blades.

Hope to check back in later in the week…..headed out the door to Mille Lacs!! I love this time of year!!

    Hooks,

We would pick up a few here and there. Not too bad. Never lost a rig to them. They were smaller than the Pool 4 variety, at least the one’s we snagged into.

I did take the time to powerwash my rig before heading over to Mille. Even poured bleach into the livewells and bilge. I dread the day those things get into the lake…..

I’m back in the cities today (Thursday) Sorry we didn’t “Hook Up”.

Jon is too modest, I fished in the Yar-Craft tournament and they did a great job of adapting to the changing fishing conditions, (I should know, I failed to read the water like I should’ve and ended up blank). Eighth place in a tough tournament is a nice feat. Congrats again.
