just got this unit,and cant seem to get it to work,goes to simulation mode and when i turn it off it says cant read gps module even though i have check my conections several times and everything seems to be wiried right.was on simulation mode from factory,and keeps going back to it after 2-3 minutes even thou i shut it off
nmea buss power might need to be hooked up,maybe,what is a nmea buss? i just have the gps unit,no sonar and not hooked up to anything else
Did you make sure both sets of power wires are connected? And the shield wire connected to ground? Is it a new or used unit? Could have a bad GPS module if everything is connected as per the manual.
On a sonar unit you have to connect the transducer or the sim will keep running. But on a stand alone GPS it usually has to do with the GPS module or connections. Occassionally a unit will need a reboot.
Make sure the GPS has a clear shot up. Won’t work in most garages?
