    Howdy,

A week after getting back from the Sturgeon Excursion I started passing blood in my urine and feeling really messed up. The doc prescribed an antibiotic and all that did was mess up my stomache. I finally went to a Urologist. First step was a look at my bladder. They do that with a scope, and there’s only one way to get there. I’ll leave the details up to your imagination. No problem there so today I had a CAT scan of my kidneys. They found ….something…. growing on one of them so now I’m scheduled for surgery to get it cut out. None of this is any fun and I still feell really crummy and yes I’m a little scared by this. And I haven’t been able to get out fishing in a month!

All I have are the reports and stories and pictures you guys have been posting so keep them coming.

I hope to be ready to go by MN Bass opener.

Be patient and have some trust in God and hopefully the skilled doctors that you can pull through this thing – I want to get you out in my boat sometime this summer for taking me out this spring – we will hit the croix when you start feeling better.
    Take care and god bless,

    Hi Guys,

Thought I’d post an update before the pain medicine kicked in again.

I’m home and in some pain but I survived the day. They did find a tumor. If it’s malignant then the whole kidney goes. If it isn’t then they take out a chunck of the ureter (the tubing between kidney and bladder). Either way I’m going to have more surgery so I don’t know if if I’m going to make it out on Bass openener or not.

But the prognosis is good. We found this thing early, I’m in good general health and I obviously have a loi of good friends My wife really appreciated the calls today guys.

    Back to bed…

Update: I found out today that my tumor is indeed cancer. Next week they’ll be taking the whole kidney and associated plumbing. I’ll be layed up for about a month I guess. This isn’t going to be any fun but the prognosis is good. Maybe Tuck and I can start our own club or something

    You won’t miss a beat!
Just follow the Dr.’s orders to the “T”, and keep up on your post surgery testing. I will be here, and my phone is always on. 651-755-5452.
    Good luck Bud!

The recovery will be much faster than you think. I found the hardest part was catching fish that weighed under the weight restriction!
