Not anything particular, but willing to travel up to 5 hours. Any suggestions on which lake I can try for either crappie, walleye, or bass? Thanks! Basically, want to enjoy good fishing and experiment on new lakes.

I’d search a bunch of fishing reports from last year, and see where people did good, seems some lakes are awesome for opener, and some stink.

Remember though that this weekend is only the opener for bass north and east of highway 53 and on Pelican and Ash lakes in St. Louis counties. The rest of the state opens their bass season on May 27.

    TSC,
Chisago area this time of year should be putting out Crappies and BG’s in shallows or edges.
What did you end up doing on your decision on getting a kicker. thought you were also selling a boat????
Have a safe opener. report back..

Anywhere except URL, unless you’re in to checking out zoos.

Mille Lacs. Check out the Mille Lacs forum. If you have a marine band, hop on channel 82. There should be plenty of IDA guys answering.

Do you guys really think URL will be that busy given the distance from the cities, the weather forecast and the limit of two fish?? I have a couple buddies going up. They talked to the resort yesterday and they are expecting a decent crowd, but not overwhelming. I guess time will tell.

Here is a quote from the lady at the resort, I personally think this is rather humorous. “You will catch lots of walleyes and they are going to have a funny look on their face when you don’t throw them back”.
