With all the moisture that we received last weekend, i’ve been hearing a lot of guys complaing about their joints.

Just means you need to relax some more, get out on the water and rest…..& catch some fish of course

I’ll try some if it isn’t dangerous …. I do believe in glucosamine sulfate …. 1000 mg 2 x day …. aleve helps too …. maybe an orthorpedist and chiropractor? both have helped me, along with the spinal surgeon…… take great care with vicodin beyond short term use.

Lou….started the glucosamine about a year ago…worked on my neighbors retriever, so figured it might help this aging dog, too. Seemed to help an aching rotator that I injured a few years ago, and supposed to be good for the joints in general. Hoping it hones my fishing skills as well.

Danwi your a finisher too? didn’t know that, so am i for 20 years. My joints are shot too, tendonitis from hanging and finishing to the point where my arms get numb. The thing that works for me the best is plain old bayer aspirin, the others work to various degrees but plain aspirin seems to be the best, works the best for headaches too,,,good luck

Yup, the old rotator damn near brought tears during this last rainy spell. Advil helped but didn’t make it go away until the sun came out.

White raisins soaked in gin might help. Chew 3 or 4 each morning. Takes a month or two before any results are noticed.

I hear you guys! my knees have been screaming too. Mega doses of Ibuprofen works best for me.800 to 1000 mg, better than narcotics but watch out for stomach troubles

    Hey yellow,

Your body can only assimilate 800 mgs per dosage. Anymore than that is not healthy. My knee was totally reconstructed and it hurts often. I also take lots of ibuprofen. The best cure though for me is to keep active. None of the over the counter pill really do that much and the prescription stuff makes a fellow loopy.

I wasn’t aware of that thanks. I will keep my dosage down to 800 mg. I only take that much for short periods for safety sake. I don’t like the narcotics either. I’m goofy enough with out help.

Lou—-if you are on any other medications keep in mind that your joint pain could be a side effect from those. I was taking Zocor to lower cholesterol, after some yard work I would be up all night due to the pain in my joints. Took me a long time and a trip to the doctor to figure that out. I just thought it was old age creeping up on me and I hadn’t hit 40 yet!!
