I’m heading there this week during work hours. How are the prices? Do they have that clearance cave or whatever its called?

Prices are good, especially on anything with Cabela’s name on it. Yes, they have the Bargain Cave in the back also.

The Bargain Cave is just okay. They don’t discount prices enough in there and they won’t bargain with you

Otherwise Cabelas is has some good prices!

Yep, prices are good, but very good on the Cabela’s brand. I have been there on a weekend and weekday and it is still very busy. I asked a friend of mine that works there if it is ever not busy there. He said yeah, from 8am-9am Monday morning. The bargain cave is in back. Very good deals on boots and clothing, but the fishing stuff is limited.

    Derek,
I live in Rogers and visit Cabelas a couple times a week. I’ll give you an example of how good a deal a guy can get at Cabelas! About a month ago I went in and purchased a camo rain jacket and pants, along with a pair of seal-skin waterproof gloves. The gloves were mistakenly marked from 29.95 down to a sale price of 5.99…..Cabelas honored the price, no questions asked even though I told them I was sure that price was wrong. The rainsuit was 119.00 for the jacket and 109.00 for the pants. When I got up to the counter I found out there was an in-store non-advertised special and they marked them down to 99.00 and 89.00. I said “Awesome!” and the lady told me that’s not all and gave me two $20 off coupons for my next visit! So, instead of paying $257.95, I ended up paying only $153.99.

You have to kinda look around and dig, the deals are sometimes where you find them….such as hair-jigs marked at $1.19 that ring up at .59

Rocky’s right, they will not bargain in the “bargain cave”, but there’s still some decent deals in there, all depends on what you are looking for. The best thing is, even if the price is a little higher at times, EVERYTHING is under one roof and that saves the hassle of driving all over town or ordering from several different places. That’s what I like. Have a good time, it’s like Alaska….you can’t go just once!!!!

Prices are ok, like others state, the cave has some good deals if you dig around. But, some of the returned stuff back there is over priced. I was a little bummed when I went up there this weekend, I needed some RAM rail mounts among other things, they DO NOT stock RAM rail mount hardware…Owatanna (sp?)does?? Well, they do now, the order should be in very soon. I had a list of 5 things I needed, they either didn’t stock it or couldn’t find it. That’s right, couldn’t find it. I know that store like the back of my hand, I knew when I couldn’t find what I needed something was up, here they restocked and moved stuff around, even those that worked there couldn’t find things. Why not put all rod holders and harware in ONE isle? Not, 100′ apart. I’m still a C fan and will continue spend my money there but…

I agree with you BirdDog, things are a little disorganized in there this week. It honestly isn’t usually like that. I think they are in the process of trying to get everything arranged and in order before opener….they just haven’t gotten there, yet! Things should look different on your next visit, I hope.

I was a bit dismayed at the Rogers store. They’ve got an OK stock but nothing like Owatonna. THe cave doesn’t bargain like O either. I did find a variety of SOS-penders inflatable PFD’s and they were 50% off. I bought one, of course. Have fun.

I can’t speak for the Rogers store but the one in Owatonna always lets you haggle them down on their prices in the bargain cave. All you have to do is ask them.

I have only been there a couple of times and looked for Frostee jigs in the winter and they were sold out. The other time I was looking for Pegg-its and they showed they were in stock but they could not find them. I am not one that likes to shop allot either so it is hard for me to go in and just look around for hours I want to get what I need and get out. (Well maybe two of what I need)

I agree with you 100% The Rogers store will not haggle like Owatonna will. Have tried a few different times…no luck

I was just there today to get some trolling rods and odds and ends. I wasn’t impressed at all with the prices. The one in Owatonna is a lot better as far as price. I also didn’t like the help we got…they seemed way under staffed today. I guess I’d go to my local Gander or Scheels again before driving there. Just my opinion though.

Krisko, today was immigrant walk out day. All the Finnish and Swedish workers at Cableas were gone protesting.

Just got back, went way over budget as expected. Glad I don’t live next door to that money pit. I liked the store a lot. They were out of only one thing on my list. Food was actually good too. I could have spent all day in the fish tank section. The shooting gallery was cool too.

One thing they do need. MORE HELP.. They are extremely under staffed. And this big sale they are running until opener, is for about 6 items in a one page flyer.

There are some items on sale that are not advertised, but check your receipts. Some of the items are not ringing up properly. That V2121 Warrior with the 300 Yamy parked out front was sweet. Overall I was impressed but probably wont go back. Three items I wanted were packed away for the season. If I were planning on going again, I would order online to save on the sales tax, but it was nice to see the items before buying.
