It is 12:40am and I am sitting at Domino’s bored out of my mind. I picked this job up a couple years ago for some extra cash. I didn’t work for about a year, but now I am back again. Good think as I just ordered three new St. Croix rods and I have to pay for them. The night is pretty slow, but I am crossing my fingers for a big bar rush. Nothing like $5 tips and a couple cans of beer from the drunks.

Sorry for my rambling, but I am trying everything to stay awake.

Ahh…almost 4am… 3 hours left of my 16 hour shift. I bet lots of people are going fishing today.

I delivered pizzas for 3 years going through school. That was before the internet though. When we were slow…fold boxes. Ok, back to work for me.

I worked for Pizza Hut for four years and I loved the nights when I was on delivery. It was great to be on my own, listened to baseball games on the radio, tips were decent, and gas was near a buck per gallon.

I drove for Domino’s back in the early 90’s, for a few weeks between jobs. The gal I was dating was a manager and it seemed like the thing to do!

I will take a large Canadian bacon, pineapple and extra cheese.

It better be hot when I get it OR no tip for you.

Ron, even though we have the wonderful heat wave bags, I still don’t think I could get it there while its warm. I put in my St. Croix and Shimano orders today, so I will be delivering pies a lot more the next few weeks. I can’t believe I ever started this post, but my brain was only running at half speed at the time. By the way, things did pick up, and I made about 10 deliveries between 1 and 2:30am. You gotta love the drunks coming home from the bar.

I would not expect anything else from a walleye guy.

I know I left myself wide open on that one and you finished it off. I would expect nothing less.

We will have to do some fishing this summer, even if it is bass fishing. A guy could starve to death if all he ever did was bass fish.

I satarted delivering pizzas in 1984. Been doing it off and on since then. Got lots of miles under my belt (tires). Good way to make extra money. I was even a Manager of a Dominos Pizza and delivered. Made even more money then. But…put lots of wear and tear on the vehicle, turned into a vampire and hard to get away from the cash every night. but it was good cash. Just had no life!! Except to fish. Still..all the weekends were shot. Those were the days you wanted to make money. And no friends because they worked days. My best money came from other pizza places. Also less work to do. No clean up or boxes to fold. I do miss the cash, though.

I have never delivered pizzas, but Jimmy’s Pizza use to deliver right out to my fish house. That was sweet. I tipped well for that one!

I delivered for Dominos in college, back when they had to do it in 30 minutes or less. The drunks definetly tipped decently. I delivered once to a huge mansion of a house, obviously well to do people. The lady gave me a .50 cent tip and asked if I was going to school. When I told her I was she told me to use the tip towards my education-Thanks! 4 Hours later in the not so nice part of town I deliver a $9.00 pizza to a couple of guys who had been out on the town and they hand me a $20 and tell me to keep the change. Guess that’s why the lady was rich, she was holding on to it.

Also got an undeserved ticket for “rolling” through a stop sign. Cop said he was giving me a ticket because of all the complaints they had about the Domino’s drivers. Sad part was that I was only filling in for a few hours at a store in a different city, so it wasn’t me. Oh well.
