Has anyone had any experience with the 15 hp 4 stroke yamaha filling the cylinder with oil when it’s transported laying on its side.

The instruction manual explains how to lay it, but it still fills the cylinders with oil and once it starts you’d think there was an old worn out 2 stroke on the lake!

Once it has run and warmed up, there’s no smoke at all and it starts easliy after that. This is a new 1998 or ’99 motor. Any body else had this problem? What’s the cure?

leave it on your boat and stop puting it in the back of your truck.

Hey, thanks “fishcatcher” I didn’t think of that!

But w ouldn’t it look a little strange to see a boat laying upside down in the back of a pick-up truck with the motor still on it?
