You may want to look for SEVERAL INVESTORS for season tickets. Wait till you see what it will cost to attend a game in Carl’s new toy.

Exactly! Amazing how that capital works, isn’t it? Personally, as far as a stadium goes, I feel ripped off, especially with the product that is currently on the field….why we have to foot the bill for that sorry bunch is beyond me. The best seat in the house is right behind by TV when it comes to pro-sports, that way when I want to leave I don’t have to sit in traffic. In my mind getting outdoors and hunting, fishing, camping is a so much better option than going to a stadium, but to each their own…..why I have to pay for it is STILL beyond me.

Now if you will excuse me, I’m off to Lutsen and the Alpine Slide…..a REAL sport!

So can anyone tell me who’s paying for this? It’s the rich folks in Hennipen Co right???

Sorry, I haven’t been following this too closely as I’ve been busy with important things…

It’s a .03 on $20 sales tax in only Hennipen county.

I see a lawsuit in the near future. The tax will be implemented without voter referendum. Which, by the way is state law. Kinda hard to just ignore that fact. The politicians can now sit back and slap each other’s back while the case works it’s way through the courts, with a verdict well after the fall elections………

Unlike the post above that is a list of people to support any way possible the had the gut’s to get this done. I rember when the Excel was approved alot of people said stuff like that. But it has changed DT St. Paul there is alot more life going on in that city. It was the right move just my .02 cents.

I couldn’t agree more! Those guys deserve to be RE-ELECTED! That stadium is going to be a wonderful addition to the state. Kudos to (y)our elected officals for getting both the Twins and Gophers new homes!

    I have a question…

Let’s say I’m totally against the stadium…should I let this one issue deceide who I’m going to vote for in the fall?

This could be switched around too…If I was totally for this stadium…should I vote for the folks that “had the courage”?

    Just wondering other’s thoughts.

The way I see it, I normally vote on one issue anyways (gun control), what is someone else voting on one issue. Keeping the balance I guess.

I can also only assume that the naming rights have been paid for. So it should be the Hennepin County Taxpayer Ballpark.

    BrianK:

I think its up to the individual to decide if this is big enough of an issue, one way or the other, to base their vote. While I have always been for a stadium, I’m not ready to hand out kudos to those who took 11 years to get it done. It very well could be a bellweather issue this fall.

The positives of this decision are that the Twins are doling out more than the average team has done in other cities and the tax is lower than in most cities. As I travel around for work quite often, I see in cities such as Houston for example, a large fee on rental cars and hotels that my employer gets to pick up. I’ve seen charges as high as $5-$10 on 1-2 day rentals. Here the fee on a $100 hotel room will be $0.15. Almost an administrative headache for the meager amount. But we got this done and a new stadium for such a small price.

The negative of course is the Hennepin County resident who’ll see this $0.15 on each $100 more often than others on purchases in and around their homes.

I’m happy we have a new stadium but the success/failure of the plan won’t be seen until 3-5 years after it opens.

I guess I am one of the lucky people that get to pay for the stadium when I do not watch or go to the games since I live in Hennepin county.

This bill will never pass. Pawlenty has already said no.

I bet you have a sour taste in your mouth right about now??

That little choo choo will get used and abused by the people who commute into the cities. I wish it went anoka or lino I would take it every day. Clean burning and quite. With a source of fuel that we can replenish. History repeats itself. My grandpa was telling in his time he used the train everyday and it was the worst mistake they made by taking it out. We might not be in this situation if it was not for MR. Ford. But as always we must first mess up and fix it to get it right the second time around.

Look out Minnesota trade workers you have a huge oppertunity coming your way!!

Don’t put your wallets away yet.

All i’ve heard since the passing is they need a roof.
The rest of Minnesota will foot the bill for that.

I said it before and i’ll say it again, they will never go for a stadium with no roof.

Congrats to all those paying for the Gophers stadium. We are now paying for land we already owned! Only in America!

Don’t be caught without season tickets, order today……Carl needs the money.

Who’s starving? We got catfish and walleye loaded up in the freezer for at least a 6 month supply, and I hear a pile o’ largie filets coming from the Hayward area.
