Please welcome Doug Mercer (MrMuskie) to In-DepthAngling’s Field Staff.

Doug is an avid South East Minnesota lake and river fisherman. Fishing lakes from Rochester to Albert Lea and over to the river. We’re all looking forward to your knowledge, passion and fishing reports in the South East Minnesota and Rochester forums!

More about Doug, in his own words… “My name is Doug Mercer, I’m 44 yrs old, married 22 yrs & have two daughters 21 & 19. My wife & I own a cabin in the Longville area, But live in a small town in SE MN. (Wasioja)
My grand parents had a resort up in Longville & that’s where I got introduced to fishing as a young boy. Been hooked ever since. I enjoy anything outdoors, Hunting, fishin, Etc. I was told of IDA from a couple guys (HOF, RHW) in the Rochester area. They said it was the best site out there. So I joined & it was the best thing I’ve done in a long time, The info this site shares is incredable. I’ve learned so much & try & share back. I enjoy all fishing, BUT, I’m A MUSKIE MAN !!!.”

Welcome Doug! I’m sure many of our members will be very interested in your reports from the growing South East Minnesota area!

Welcome, it will be good to have another Esox chaser on staff. Bob Bowman and I spend a lot of time around Longville, we will have to find some time to share a boat and huck some baits this year.

Welcome aboard Bud. Doug will also be working with HOF, RHW and myself on the Rochester Area Lakes and Rivers Forum supplying fishing reports and helping others become aware of and enjoy all the different bodies of water in SE Minnesota. We plan to really highlight this area as there are alot of bodies of water here that alot of anglers aren’t aware of that can be fished from both a boat and from shore. Again welcome Doug. Great to have you with us.
    Thanks, Bill
