yep… I use one of those big white Canon Lenses… its pretty darn huge…. and I shoot with a Canon 20D digital SLR… though if I can somehow scrape up the $$ Id like to shoot with the Canon 1D MkIIN great focus system on that camera… plus its weather proof…. when you go after wildlife you need all the help you can get so I have the gear now…. but you CAN get buy a lot more cheaply.. when I started out with the Digital SLR I had the Rebel… and I used the Sigma 50-500 zoom… that combo did a very nice job.. and really for the money it does a GREAT job in my opinion…. still thats NOT what a lot of people would call cheap… those big telephoto lenses are NOT cheap…. though compared to the one I use now… the Sigma is a bargain!….

Nice work Ken as always. Your right about camera equiment being costly to very costly but its amazing what good equipment can do. Nice pictures Ken. Do you ever shoot macros, i got alot of interisting shots looking close up doing that. Any plans for a wisc. woods and waters wildlife calander in the near future?,,, I’d buy!

    Hi Mossy…
Ive done a bit of macro work… its very demanding your DOF is so incredibly short… but the impact of a great macro cant be denied… Every year I try to get better and branch into more areas… last year I did fairly limited macro work.. this year I will do quite a bit more I think… its a whole different eye to train…. macro shots are everywhere you go…. you know.. your calender Idea is a good one… I could work with IDA and maybe we could release a limited edition calender to IDA members….

Both states are a good idea. Theres so much to shoot in both states and im sure a very nice top quality calendar could be made. I know here in town they have custom printing for anyone who wants to print anything on almost anything. You can take pictures and have them made into calanders then give them as presents to anyone and i know its not alot to have them made. Offering top quality calanders with the In-depth Angling logo would be a nice present for a desktop or wall in the den or kitchen. I’d already have one if i had the chance. Maybe try calling the custom printing services and see what they may have for a price in calendars and some nice single framing prints for the wall say 24″ by 30″ to 36″, both would be nice and i think it could be done affordable too.
