I started our 05 sportsman 400 Saturday and the instrument cluster didn’t come on. A note in the owners manual says a battery over-voltage may have occured and to take it to the dealer. Has anyone else been down this road that I am about to travel.

I can’t say I have run across this on the newer Sportsmans. Did the display come on after you ran it or is it still off? Did the speedo work? I can give you some very handy ATV Sites to search but would prefer to do so via PM to keep with the rules of the board here. I’ll also look and see what I can dig up and let you know.

You checked the fuses right? Is it possible you charged the battery with it still hooked up to the machine? might be a simple little thing, hopefully anyways.

Haven’t checked the fuses yet, we have less than 50 miles on this machine, got it in January. Ran it on Sunday for the kids certificate class in Rockford and it never came on and the speedometer doesn’t work either. I will take the headlight cover off tonight to see if there is a fusable link. The dealer by my house is never open for me to get there before he closes.
