MN Momentum. A good thing??

In the last few weeks, I’ve received some emails from the Vikings asking me to support their new stadium drive. At first glance, I thought, great! As a lifelong Vikings fan, why wouldn’t I support it. The dome has seen its time come and go.
When I started to hear their pitch for a three stadium deal in the legislature, I began to see this in a different light. Are the Gophers and Twins really supporters of MN Momentum or are the Vikings just trying to budge in line? The Gophers definitely need to play on campus and the Twins will be gone soon with the pathetic deal they have at the Vikings dome.
IMO the Vikings need to wait in line until the teams that really need the stadiums get theirs, then I’ll jump on the MN Momentum. Consider this before supporting it!

    Just my opinion!

As long as the legislature follows the LAW and puts the tax increase on the ballot for VOTERS to decide, no problem.

It will not get past the people who have to pay for it. Not last time, not this time.

    Nuff said.

    Now ya done it!!
Got me thinking about the liars & their stadium woes.
First, give the Gophers a stadium? Why. The dome is a football stadium that works for the Vikings, it will work for the Gophers. This land swap is a farce! The state (i.e. the University) already owns the flippin land! We are selling it to ourselves.

Vikings…….Wilfs claim they are pouring a billion dollars into the project? Sure if you count what they paid for the land, paid for the Vikings, will pay to develope the land. Not argueing that point. My position is give them money for infrastructure only, they will control all naming rights, PSL’s, profits from the land sale and profit from selling the Vikings when the time comes.

Now for the Twinkie’s……..as long as a Pohlad owns that team I’m against givng them one dime. Carl was the guy that VOLUNTEERED to contract the team, Carl was the guy who approved the phony loan deal. Carl is the guy attempting to stick it to the state, he has not commited $120 million dollars to the project like you read in the papers. He’s attempting to get a stadium for free, complete with a retractable roof, which BTW we should never build a stadium without a roof.

Welfare for the needy is one thing. Corporate welfare for the rich is something different.

I will support the stadium issue for each of them when they can demonstrate that they truely are making a cash out of pocket contribution.

I’m a little old for the smoke and mirror’s bit.

I’m a stadium proponent. Let’s get that right out there. Perhaps this is for those who have already decided they are for stadiums.
A debate on whether or not we should pay for stadiums with tax dollars is the issue the precedes this. As I stated above, I’m beyond that decision personally.

I’m in favor of the vikes stadium, though i dont believe its a neccessity. The gophers stadium as a separate issue is a little beyond me. Why dont they just share with the vikes in a new stadium also? Cant recall many Saturday vikes games…

Now the Twins, how bout we prove we can play first.

Pretty much Ditto to what Brian Wrote there…

And for the record here, the legistature is currenty looking at funding three, yes that’s 3 stadiums. One for the Vikes, one for the Twins, one for the Gophers. We are talking mega bucks here as it sits today. All under one bill. And the slick shysters are trying to get it passed without referendum. Yes, trying to undo the LAW that requires voter approval. This is so messed up right now, if it passes I may move to another state….

Get informed on this issue. If you don’t want to buy big houses for billionaires, call your rep now. Insist on voter approval.
