just wondering if anyone else likes white castle. my and a few buds make a special trip either to brooklin park or hinkley at least twice a month. its so good. whats everyone elses opinion on here. i personally love getting the varity case with 10 burgers 10 cheese burgers and 10 jalipeno cheese burgers. we wont eat all day so we are starving when we get there. last time we ate there i could still only eat 12 of them. oh yea, by the way, there is NO wakco tabbacco involved for this. just some great times and a lot of fun. took us almost 3 hours to get from cabelas in rogers to white castle in brooklin park last time we went. we must have gotten lost about 15 times and asked directions twice to get there. well worth it.

I admit I get a craving for em about twice a year though!I think they sell white castle packs at grocery stores in the freezer section. Probably not as good but might be worth a shot.

The only burger you don’t have to chew if you don’t want to.The gift that keeps on giving hours after you enjoy them! It lets others in on the experience..

As a kid my mom and dad would treat the kids to white castles. Now there are four of us (three boys and little sis). We all played sports and were eating machines. We would “CALL IN” our order of 100 burgers. Come home and have the eating contest. In those days they had a brown mustard on them that really made the name “sliders” appropriate. They don’t use that brand of mustard anymore thank goodness!!
This is not an exaggeration. My dad would buy half a steer just to get us through the summer in meat.
Ate almost all of them and had the rest for breakfast. My parents would take a few and leave the frenzy shaking their heads. Good times to remember.
When I travel to an area where White Castles can be found I am there!!
Thanks for mentioning white castles cuz I am cracking up on the memories and sounds from a family of jocks eating sliders.
April 6, 2006 at 12:29 pm #436329when I lived in Brooklyn Park, back in the 80’s, I made many a late night run to the castle. Ah, those were the days….

April 6, 2006 at 12:29 pm #436330Love them!! And I dont even have to have had a few to enjoy them now. Im getting hungry
April 6, 2006 at 1:07 pm #436344I went to St Thomas in school and hated breakfast food. So when I found out that the Castle served burgers 24/7 I found myself making many 9am trips across the river to the Lake Street one to eat off a hang over.
Hmmmmmmm………..
BTW -great fuel for the dutch oven.
April 6, 2006 at 1:29 pm #436349Goooooooooood Eatn’!!!!!!!!
The only burger that you don’t buy……..You just rent em!
April 6, 2006 at 1:36 pm #436353When I was in high school, my friends and I would go down to the Columbia Heights golf coarse to pick night crawlers, then stop at White Castle for a pile o gut bombs.
I might have to get some for lunch today.
The jelapeno cheese burgers are the best!
April 6, 2006 at 2:13 pm #436358Remember the old days when we would have White Castle eating contests. The record I had was 24 in one sitting without losing it. We had one for our high school homecoming week. My coach wouldn’t let me participate due to being sick the earlier part of that week. The winner won with only 20 burgers. Would have blown past them, but oh well, saved me a few weeks of being ill.
Still love them. Had them for lunch on Tuesday.

April 6, 2006 at 3:37 pm #436397Yep,
Whenever going to Methodist Hospital I hit the one on Hwy. 7 for a few gut-bombs!
Lived on them when I first moved out of the house…………….way back in “74”April 6, 2006 at 3:44 pm #436400HOORAY FOR WHITE CASTLE! jalapeno cheeseburgers and chicken rings with neon yellow sauce.
April 6, 2006 at 3:46 pm #436402When I was a kid, would go back to the seedier areas around E Chicago, Ill and Hammond Ind. to visit relatives. White Castle were always a treat. Used to get a bag for a buck!. then when I lived closer to the Twin Cities, I could enjoy the treat again. Also spent some time in NY and NJ in the early 70’s and White Castle were thick there, I think I would go w/o food all day just to get a bag of sliders and a couple of fish, and fries. Yum
These days I resemble a few bags o’ slidersQuestion, do they still server breakfast? I can remember when you could eat eggs, bacon or sausage, toast & coffee & juice for about 75 cents.

April 6, 2006 at 4:51 pm #435468When I was little I always looked forward to my Mom getting an oil change. That meant that my Dad and I would drive down to Coon Rapids, drop the car off, and hike over to White Castle. Every time I make a trip anywhere near Hinckley I always have to stop. There is one in Blaine that gets me sidetracked from time to time also. It’s amazing all the places I am starting to miss while living out here in Marshall. What I wouldn’t give for a few Sliders, a Wendy’s junior bacon cheeseburger, and a couple chili cheese burritos from Taco Bell.
April 6, 2006 at 6:04 pm #435490Hey bigfife, we just got a KFC so maybe we could get a White Castle next!
Currently, i have to stoop down and purchase a frozen bag from Walmart, not bad, but just not the same!
DanHPosts: 115April 6, 2006 at 6:11 pm #435494Prior to last weekend, I did not have a White Castle burger since I moved to New England in 1992. Last weekend I had to travel home for a funeral and decided that I had to stop and get some sliders on my way to the airport. I was in heaven. The perfect lunch = 4 double cheesburgers w/ketchup, o-rings and a drink.

Ain’t that the truth!
When I was younger after a drinking binge it was 4 double cheese, 2 turkey cheese, and an onion chip usually between 1 am and 4 am……
