Thought it be neat to hear what kind of good deals people found at the sportshow. I was there 2 days, mostly working, so I didn’t get to walk around and check everything out, but managed to buy a couple things.

For me I got a great deal on a Lakemaster “Pro” map chip for $34.

    What did you guys find?

Jack where did you find that? I was looking for one for a guy. Did you get it for that price cause of a special JLD pricing?

I got my buddy a Lowrance LMS 332 with that chip for $579.00. I thought that was a pretty good deal. I think the 332 goes for $649.00 normally, plus the chip goes for $99.00.

    Rob,

Well….yeah, I did get a little discount but Reed’s had them on sale for $44.95 for anyone who wanted one. They also had the Devils Lake chip for $40!

You can try to contact Kevin Zimmer at Reeds and he’ll take care of you. Tell him I refered you.

As I mentioned in the Outdoors Forum, Marine Specialties is offering the Trollmaster TR1 for $225! $25 cheaper than Cabellas!

Yes Rob, it has over 25,000 Minnesota lakes and ponds on it, including 10,000 that are named. 268 of the lakes have contour lines, and 59 premier lakes have the super high detail depth contours.

I’m surprised you didn’t catch on to this when I stopped by the BFishN booth the last time I saw you. I told you I had just picked up my chip!! I could have gotten it straightend out for you.

I had the distinct pleasure of finally meeting Briank….for FREE! Nice meeting you finally!

Other than that, I didn’t find any super deals this year, but I talked to an outfitter that I booked a moose/elk/bear hunt with in northern British Columbia for this fall. I found out his price went up $1500 this year….so I guess I’m glad I put my deposit down last year. Hopefully it will pay off this fall?

He’d never want to wash that shirt again. But I’m not going to go there.

    Putz,

You should open a Lutey booth at the show next year. Believe it or not, that would be better than the food they sell there now, and you could under cut their prices and still make money!

My best deal, besides meeting Tuck and Blue at the G3 booth (and telling them then I had the wrong name on Dustin–and they still were laughing about that one!!) , was getting a free bag of some red ringworms that were some defects that they said. Looked great to me!!

No, Blue and I were the defects! The plastics were fine!

Putz having a Lute stand…singing Ode to Lutefisk???

Derek would be shelling out $18. for coke and Lut…and another $20. for Mylanta….Stick with the brats…you know what’s in them.

Plus the brats will only stay on your breath a day or two.

Lutey on the other hand…Let’s just say your breath smells like for weeks.

    I go away for a while and……

I like your idea, Jack. Since lutey is the fish of love, just think how much stuff people would buy after eating that euphoric aphrodesiac. Of course you would have to keep people out of the back end of those fancy campers.
