An old River Rat, Grandfather is gone.

    Leonard Arendt, 93, peacefully passed away Thursday at the Lake City Nursing Home. I give him the term River Rat because I can’t think of anyone who spent more time on pool 4 and 5 than him. He and grandma fished virtually every day they could in their small 14 foot lund, spending a great deal of time in the Indian Slough. Thanks to everyone who ever ran into them down there, who lent a ear to listen to him as he always wanted to talk fishing to everyone at the ramps, thanks to everyone who may have helped him in his older years get his boat back on the trailer. He will truely be missed.

    Sorry to hear about this, can’t say I knew the gentleman, but sounds like he could have almost walked on water. Men and women like this are precious and hard to find and can’t be replaced.
