I’m looking for a good boat cover, i would like a tralierable conver to possibly to help with gas milage and drag when trailering. I have seen some at Wally World, but i’m just not confident in their quality. Anyone recomend one? Thanks!

I have one that I bought with my 2003 Alumacraft. Tiller drive, bought at Starks in Prairie comes with new tie down straps. Used on one trip to Canada then I had a custom one made. If this would work for you offer a price.

You get what you pay for when it comes to boat covers. Custom is by far the best way to go, but alos by far the most spendy.

The best of the cabela’s trailerable covers are actually pretty good and hold up well. I think for most boats they are around $200. The way they strap down is a little more labor intense than most custom covers.. but they also cost less than 1/2 of a custom cover, and travel very well.

If you do go with an over the counter cover.. dont get the inexpensive ones.. they are only good for sitting in your driveway in a less than harsh environment. They will only last a season or 2 just doing that.

You get what you pay for. Dont skimp if you want it to last. Some over the counter covers have good warranties and that makes a difference in items like this.

    Waldo,
I’m guessing your boat is bigger than mine, but I bought an Alumacraft lunker last year and might be interested if they are similar.
    Thanks,

There are many types of breathable fabrics available. The big difference in price between the cheap covers (and tarps) and the good covers is due to the breathable fabrics. Never ever cover a boat with a non-breathable cover. Condensation build-up under the cover can do lots of damage.

I have the max cover from empire its a 3 layer cover made from Tyvek developed by DuPont.
