Over the past year I’ve watched my son TJ come into his own and become a man. He’s completed his training and is now getting ready to deploy to Iraq with the 1/34th redbulls infantry unit. I just wanted to let him know how proud I am to have a son that would give so much of himself and join the military in a time of war, to defend the freedom of us all. Stay safe son, and thank you for everything your doing. Dad

Hoist–
My youngest brother did 16 months in Iraq so I know what your family is going through. Make sure you take advantage of the support services offered through the military. It helped us a lot.March 18, 2006 at 1:12 pm #431240To a country that needs alot help rebuilding, I’m sure your son will be a great assett. Safe return Soldier Boy . FISHINFOOL
March 18, 2006 at 2:23 pm #431249Its because of people like this that we have our freedom and hopefully others will gain their freedom.
Thanks, BillMarch 18, 2006 at 6:21 pm #421654Two of my coworkers left with the Redbulls too. We should all take a moment to hope/pray for a safe return and successfull mission. Young people willing to serve their country and put life and limb on the line are getting harder to come by as this war continues. We should all thank and support our military men and women in any possible, including being there for the families left behind when our Soldiers,Sailors,Airmen, and Marines go in harms way.
Congratulations sir on raising a young man with the moral convictions and courage to serve his country in a time of need. My hopes and prayers are with you both.

USMC 77-87March 18, 2006 at 7:06 pm #431258hoistafish1…our thoughts and prayers and respect go out to you and TJ. Our son is in Marine Corp aviation training right now, and we too are proud of him and all the other self-less young men and women out there serving in some capacity. In December,we attended his graduation from Quantico’s basic school for officers, and seeing about 250 young marines in their dress blues going off to their various next assignments, and meeting and chatting with about 20 of them and their leaders, left me feeling like our military is in very good hands….there are some very, fine young men out there, committed to the values that our country holds, or should hold dear.

congratulations to your son on the completion of his training. I know Exactly how you feel. My son Eric joined the Army and is out in WA at fort Lewis, 2nd Infantry Division – Recon. He deploys to Iraq in June. The changes he went through over the last 6 months of training are nothing short of amazing.March 20, 2006 at 6:32 pm #431608Thank you TJ and Eric. You both are going to learn a lot in life while you serve. It is going to assist you in turning into a very fine mature adult! Congrats on your willingness to serve this country.
Have fun, and before you knew it, it will all be over. You both are going to gain life long friends, that you will share your stories over and over, again and again. Those stories and the times you served will only hold true meaning to those that you served with.

My brother has been in the Guard for two years..the only reason he hasn’t left for Iraq is the goverment, sent him to law school paid. They want him to be an officer..
But, he also has a spot at special forces school, or something like that, if he chooses to..
My best friend, next to my brother, Tyler Davin, just returned to Iraq after a two week leave. He has been working with special forces. All four of you guys are hereos in my book!!
Thank you so very much!!March 21, 2006 at 12:23 am #431722Thank you TJ and to all the Forces no matter whare they are and thanks to there familys.
2Fishy4UPosts: 973March 21, 2006 at 9:13 pm #431967There is no group I have more respect for then those kids in the military. I could elaborate on why forever, but suffice to say I wish the kid the best. And yes, for several reasons they our doing more for freedom then perhaps any generation in history.
