woo hoo!!!
GO SIOUX!!!
The saint cloud game should be fun one to see.
Surprising actually to see North Dakota do this well this year seeing as the mojority of their team is freshmen. Look out WCHA in the next couple of years, North Dakota is coming throughSorry for stirring the pot, but it is hard to live in Grand Forks and not be a Sioux Fan, I’ve got to say it though, Wisconsin had a pretty darn good team, I was surprised to see ND win actually
March 18, 2006 at 1:47 am #431159I think Bucky can still make the NCAA tourney. It appears that they DID peak early. Also heard that they got shafted on some of the all conference picks. That is from an inside source. What was the score of today’s game?
bradgPosts: 507March 18, 2006 at 2:44 am #431176Sorry Matt
Go SIOUX!!!!!!!
Heres to Saint Cloud ThoughAll in fun,
Good Luck to all the teams as those players have played butts off to get to where they are.
March 18, 2006 at 5:27 am #431212What the h-e-double hockey sticks happened??? The Gophers got beat too!!! Bet you didn’t think another border battle was going to happen. Another great hockey game, other than the Gophs lost!!!

March 18, 2006 at 11:58 am #431226Awwww…kinda funny how the news that the little yellow rat loosing is hush hush.
I am sure they are both good enough to make the BIG dance though.
March 18, 2006 at 12:44 pm #431236That Gopher/Huskie game was one of the best games that I have seen one a long time. 7 goals in the second period.

March 18, 2006 at 3:34 pm #428019Wow!!! What a game. The Huskies deserved to win that one..best game I have seen in years. My hat goes off the St. Cloud..great game guys..
jldiiPosts: 2294March 18, 2006 at 4:56 pm #429183Congrats to the Huskies for a great game.
They really have their work cut out for them tonight though. They’ve played 2 tough games in 2 nights already, and I would imagine their legs are going to be pretty heavy, which isn’t good going against a body checking team like N.D.. I’m affraid the Soiux are going to physically pound the life out of them and maybe pull off a big surprise.
Good Luck SCSU!!
March 18, 2006 at 5:21 pm #426656I have been to every Final Five game so far and last nights game was the best. I have no fingernails, voice, and energy left. We are trying to find the energy to go back and cheer the Gophers to 3rd. If nothing else, I think Potulny took a huge step towards grabbing the Hobey Baker award.
There were some pretty disrespectful Huskie fans after the game. I was clad in Maroon and Gold from head to toe and I have never been heckled so much in my life. I had to laugh because some of the proclaimed Huskie fans had maroon and gold hidden under their jackets. All aboard, the Huskie bandwagon is headed for the championship. Another reason why I hate SCSU. College hockey is the best.
March 18, 2006 at 5:32 pm #426820After the seventh and tieing goal, even on tv, there seemed like one of those buzzes that doesn’t quit. The overtime had to somewhat anticlimatic. But the place was really wild during the last minute and after that goal, bedlam, pandamonium!!! I was flipping back and forth between the gophs, WIAA high school boys tourney and NCAA. This weekend is the best sports weekend, its almost too many things happening

March 18, 2006 at 9:20 pm #326284Potuny’s last goal with seconds left shows you why he is one of the bes tin th ecountry. PREESURE ON, ONE TIMER AND ABSOULTELY SLAMS IT HOME, NEAR SIDE ONLY AN INCH OFF THE UPRIGHT. BIG TIME PLAYERS SHOW UP AND DELIVER WHEN THEY SHOULD AND HE DID HIS PART. HE IS ON A FRICKIN TEAR RIGHT NOW
March 18, 2006 at 9:52 pm #431260The gophers goalies better get their act together or they may end up with one game in the NCAA’s and be done!! Some of those goals last night were pathetic!!(especially the game winner!) SCSU deserved the win.
March 18, 2006 at 10:35 pm #431263Hope your not watching the MN / WI game
They look pretty bored out there!
March 18, 2006 at 11:01 pm #431265Bored?????? They look like they are sleeping. Well, another lose for the Gophers..and lose the number one seed in the NCAA tourny. Wow!! they do disappoint…
March 18, 2006 at 11:06 pm #431267
Awesome game, Gopher fans feelin a little uneasy?
Final Four is in Badgerland this year.March 19, 2006 at 12:15 am #431274I have been laughing my behind off for the past half hour! I just saw the little spotted rat got their butts handed to them by Bucky!
WOOOOOHOOOOOOOO. Guess the wins really count this time of year huh?
jldiiPosts: 2294March 19, 2006 at 7:58 am #431321Blah Blah Blah!!
As if it is a surprise to anyone that knows the game that the Gophers would be wiped out from their late game the night before! How could anyone expect them to be ready to play 15 hours after the effort that they put out against SCSU. No big thing really. The McNaughton Cup is here in Minnesota, and come time to play in the NCAA, the Gophers will be there.
My heart goes out to the SCSU team. They knew their only chance to get into the NCAA was to win tonight, and this was their 6th game in 9 days, and 3rd in 3 days! THATS TOUGH FOR ANYONE!!
bradgPosts: 507March 19, 2006 at 4:41 pm #431352I’ve got to say, SCSU gave it on heck of a try, especially considering they had to play an extra game. But, pretty cool to see a predominantly freshman North Dakota team Take the Trophy home!!!!
The NCAA tourney is coming up and all I can say is GO SIOUX!!!!!jldiiPosts: 2294March 19, 2006 at 7:19 pm #431367Well, the seedings for the NCAA are out, and it looks like the deck is stacked against the Gophers this year.
Wisconsin gets home ice (Green Bay) and the Gophers get to go to Grand Forks with N.D. in the same bracket.
Oh well, it should be a great tournament.
A word of warning to Wisconsin, beware of Bemidji St., they are a lot tougher than most people think!!
West Regional; Grand Forks, N.D.; March 24-25
No. 1 Minnesota vs. No. 4 Holy Cross
No. 2 North Dakota vs. No. 3 MichiganMidwest Regional; Green Bay, Wis.; March 25-26
No. 1 Wisconsin vs. No. 4 Bemidji State
No. 2 Cornell vs. No. 3 Colorado CollegeEast Regional; Albany, N.Y.; March 25-26
No. 1 Michigan State vs. No. 4 New Hampshire
No. 2 Harvard vs. No. 3 MaineNortheast Regional; Worcester, Mass.; March 24-25
No. 1 Boston University vs. No. 4 Nebraska-Omaha
No. 2 Miami vs. No. 3 Boston CollegeMarch 19, 2006 at 7:36 pm #431368Were right where we knew we were going to be a number 1 seed in the Grand Forks, North Dakota regional.
It’s little disapointing ND won the tourney and get’s to play at home but who care’s!!!!!! Michigan will probably beat them any way.
I think BSU is the worst team in the tourney by far and really should not be in it at all, that does not me they can’t get lucky and win highly doubtful though.
March 19, 2006 at 7:44 pm #431370The fighting Souix got pretty lucky. SCSU was wore out. I would agree that N.D. won’t do much in the tourney. And I would love to see WI get wiped by BERMIDJI!! That would be a highlight of the whole tourny!
And of course watch the best team win. GO MN!!!
jldiiPosts: 2294March 19, 2006 at 11:23 pm #431397Pierbridge, I’m not surprised by the seeding, I just don’t like having to face N.D. (if they beat Michigan) in their own house. Especially since they have some momentum now after winning the WCHA tourney.
I haven’t seen the actual “bracket” to know who might face who as things go forward, but is there any chance that 2 WCHA teams could meet in the Final? I’m assuming after last year, and all the teams in the final 4 coming from the WCHA that the NCAA set things up so that that other conferences besides the WCHA will have a chance to play in the big game.
March 20, 2006 at 12:56 am #431411Wis could face Min or ND in the finals. As for the poor Gophers who had to play the night before, the Badgers also had a tough game only a few hours earlier and a loss to rebound from. If the Gophers cannot get fired up to play Bucky, then it may be a short lived playoff run. The were also playoff implications. Going into the playoffs with 2 straight losses is not good psychologically as anyone who understands sports knows.
I thought ND’s defense looked awfully tough and Parise was in the zone. They could definately make some noise. And colklink83 as nice as it would be to see a repeat of yesterday afternoon, I would enjoy even more having the maroon make an early exit. Go Big Red
March 20, 2006 at 2:38 am #431448The Cheese have the overall #1 seed. Deservedly so. If they get cookin look out. At the same time, can you believe how balanced this year’s field is? Anyone, and I repeat anyone, can come out and win this thing. Except for 2 time defending champion Denver…Oops, did someone say “not going to the Dance?”. Boo hoo.
March 20, 2006 at 2:53 am #431457I see what you mean JD after looking at the brackets I think our bracket is the toughest and yes they have changed the seeding rules in the past they would have tried to avoid having teams from the same conference play each other if possible, in the past I doubt you would have had the WCHA regular season champion and WCHA Playoff champion in same bracket.
I’ll still be suprised if a WCHA team does not win it all…

not that it matters Gophers should be the number 1 overall seed it would make no sense for wisconsin to be rated ahead of us.
There is no chance any of the 4 seeds can win this and I don’t believe Holy Cross or Miami have any hope of winning the title either.
I feel Denvers pain they are a better team than at least 7 of the teams in the field.
