    Wade,…..
Do you have the 2006 Lakemaster map chips for MN yet? 2nd question. I have a 26cHD on my dash. I am going to purchase a 332c for the bow very soon (as we PM’d off WC.com) and intend to hook it to my Minkota transducer for sonar. I am also going to try to network it with my 26cHD on the dash and use it’s GPS puck and the units temp sensor for readings at the bow. Do you have all the wiring/connectors necessary to couple this stuff together? I’m thinking I’ve studied the Lowrance books enough to have this NEMA thing figured out???? MAYBE!!!
One other comment. I’m going to Bill Dietrichs 1 day class on operation and mapping for these units,… just so I have a complete understanding of their capabilities – and so I can use all the mapping technology properly. Anyone take one of his “high-tech” Lowrance classes on this stuff? Are they worth the money/time?
    Thanks.

Splitshot – Anything I don’t have I can order. I did a little studying of the NMEA 2000 manual this weekend. It’s not as bad as I thought. I think you’ll need the following:

    N2K-EXT-KIT Part # 119-50
NMEA expansion kit. Includes 2 terminating resistors (TR-120M, TR-120F), one T connector (N2K-T) and one 2′ extension cable (N2KEXT-2BL).

Whats all this talk of the network wiring? I thought that was old tech only used for networking with your PC. I thought the media cards took over any type of networking. Whats going here

Umm brain fart. Must be the interface to trolling motor sonar. Right?

Matt, We’re talking about networking 2 units or components together, such as running 2 units off of one GPS antenna, or sending temp readings to two units (or more) from one temp sensor. It’s the new NMEA 2000 system. Go to This Post and scroll down to Lowrance NMEA 2000 (PDF file) for more info. It’s the future man!

Wow I feel like I’ve been in a cave. The unit I have now has the capabilities, I just don’t use it.
I guess that what happens when you don’t shop for new electronics every year. Thanks for keeping us on top of things Wade

For those of you who have kids in your house maybe they could help. It seems kids today have more knowledge on computers and electronics than we did or even do now. Get them interested in this stuff and they could do all the research for you. Heck maybe they’ll even wire it. Anyone have some kids that could help me out? This stuff is more in depth than I figured.

    Kevin,

As far as mounting the puck for the GPS I’ve used velcro strips about 5″ away from the unit and seems to work just fine, This way when I take the unit out it’s not a problem.
    Good luck!
