I never keep a boat long enough to get affectionate with it But, it all depends on how it is running at the time. When things are not working right, well the names I come up with can’t be posted here If it happens to be running smooth, I usually call it Lucky. Lucky because it isn’t being sold for scrap metal
I guess I should clarify that statement I get “new to me” boats every year I can’t get a brand new boat so I just keep getting different boats all the time
My last boat was appropriately named “The fartin sailor”. Previous to that, I had S.S.Pookie, my newest boat I have now is Lou Da Hippo – a fitting name! Ive had so many boats I cant remember them all. I buy a different boat every fall for a winter project.
Before I got my boat, I used to fish the streams for trout. One of the regulars was a minister from my town, he was having trouble catching fish and asked me what he was doing wrong….I told him he needed to quit working on Sundays! A couple years later he retired and his fishing improved !!!
my dad was a fire cheif for i think 10 years and so when he got his a few years ago he named it “st. florian” for all the firefighters you should know the name. but the engine blew up last summer so we are in the market. not sure what he is going to name the next one though.
My current boat is still nameless but I named my last rig “Red Rocket” after my old German Shorthair. He used to get really excited before a hunt and he would display himself if you know what I mean.
