I have an older vexilar fl-8 while my two buds have fl-18s. When we are fishing in deep water ie 20+, I pick up lots of interference from their vexilars while they have very little. Is it time to upgrade or is there another solution?
    Thanks, Matt

I am not that familiar with the Fl-8’s anymore, but does yours have the IR (Interference Rejection) button? If it does, trying pushing that.. You said you thought it was old correct? So it is possible that it won’t have it-

Your buddies have the 18’s though, so they will have an IR button-

Try having one of your buddies pushing theirs IR buttons to see if it eliminates the problem…

    Or you could…

IF your unit doesnt have IR. Your buddies do and they should be able to cancel your interference.

Good info Derek, right on the money!! My boys run an older 8,I run the 18.Use the 18 to clear up the screen on the 8 if it doesn’t have the IR button.

I heard that vexilar is coming out with a FL-28 fishfinder. It is has an adjustable zoom feature. The zoom window can be moved up farther than the bottom 6 feet like the FL-18. Has anyone heard when this will be released?

Thats been a long time rumor. Vexilar has no plans on adding useless features to the FL-18 that will drive the cost up.
