Need some help spending a little money. I’m building my own rods and my next one is going to be a St. Croix 6’3″ Med. xtra fast tip. I currenty have several Avid series and really like them. My cost to build the SCV series (legend elite) is about 50 bucks over the SCIII (Avid). I would be using Alconite guides on either instead of the SiC that are used on St. Croix production Legend Elites.
Is the Legend Elite worth the extra money?

For me the answer was SCIV, the Legend Tourney is a great blank. I’m having 2 built for my wife and myself. I know you’ll be pleased with whatever you choose, but I felt the blue blanks had the features of the Elites, and not that much difference in price from the Avids

If you have the money, go with the lengend elite- simply put- AMAZING!!

You’ll love the difference from the SCIII’s to the SCV’s.
SCV extremely lightweight and tough..
Both rods are great, I have the avid, fishing is really fun being able feel ao much more. Could you get a 2 for 1 deal on avids.
