I’m an ultr-conservative, fisherman, hunter, meat/potatoes, god fearing, anti brokeback, pro NRA guy. My wife thinks I’m on an internet chat room when I’m on the IDA website for an hour or two. Anybody else’s wife think they are a fruitcake?
Showed her the discussion about boats, guns, dogs, motors etc and she is a skeptic. Worshipping Oprah is normal though? Help me out IDA’rs.

Well guys….. we do two things here.
1. We ALL CHAT fishing
2. TO US a good looking female has a big gut and scales.
Its something they don’t understand, my wife did the same. How can somebody spend so much time on one site was her comment. I pulled her aside and said look and showed her all the things i was doing, showed her my e-mail etc. As time went by while me being here and typing in messages, reading stories about fishing and hunting, spending alot of time on here and her seeing me, she finially realized that i was spending alot of my time on a real fishing site without nude women wearing hip waders and holding a pole. It took time for her to see what i was actually doing but when she figured it out it was ok, my wife was skeptical too lol, I think thier just wired that way until they know forsure, She’ll get over it and to the point where she will be comfortable with it. I know what your saying about hearing stuff on the Ophra show, my wife was convinced that i was talking to dozens of other women! Whew! wheres the baitshop!
LOL BILL, never thought about it but that sure as heck makes sense. I like the scales part especially when thier mad or in doubt. I’ve got to make up something to tell her if she ever says anything again with those words in there. I got it, I’ll tell her the only female im interisted in is a nice big fat one that has scales that looking for a male to spawn with, im going to remember that one. Thanks Bill! 
My wife is pretty sure I’m going to get raped by somebody because I go fishing with “guys I met on the internet”. I said it sounds so dirty the way you say it. 
I went ice fishing with WhiskerKev earlier this year and my wife figured I wouldn’t return since I had never met him in person only on this site. She wanted to know what kind of pervert would go by the name WhiskerKev. I had to explain the difference between a pervert and somebody that fishes for catfish. I never realized how much the two had in common until I tried to explain the difference.
That is EXACTLY what my wife said when she first met you Kooty!!! 
A month or so back my wife and I are watching Dateline’s expose on men soliciting sex from underage boys and girls over the internet. While we are watching the show I just so happened to have the laptop out next to her on the sofa and was tapping out a few posts on this IDA site. My wife looked at the TV and then looked at me deeply entranced in some post about trolling gear and she gave me one of those “What the he$# are you doing?” looks. I said “Don’t even think that. I swear it is just a site about fishing!” I handed her the computer just so she did not get any wrong ideas.
As far as Oprah goes…that woman usually gets me raked over the coals a few times per year! A helpful hint to all of you whose significant others are faithful watchers of Ms. Winfrey. Do yourself a favor and look at the TV guide in the mornring to see what Oprah will be talking about on that afternoon’s show. If the topic is “Men who cheat with co-workers” get yourself home a little early that day with a token of love for your little lady.
