My first Boat, Finally!!

Here she is! I just turned 30 in Dec and I finally own my own boat, which opens up a whole new world of opportunities to me. It is a 2003 Crestliner fishhawk 1850 dual console with a 24v minkota, on board charger, and of course the 115 Yamaha 4-stroke!! I can’t wait for the ice to thaw, it’s hard to stand on the ice and cast my bass lures and hit those small holes the ice auger’s make so I will just wait and drool over the thought of firing her up the first time. Just thought I’d share my good news, thanks for looking.

Flipping and pitching, practice makes perfect. Keep trying those 8 inch holes are not to bad.

    Great boat.

Congrats JL on your first boat. Even though you’ve never had it in the water, now is the time to start prepping the wife for getting the next boat. It is a long and tedious battle, so get started today. I’ve had my boat for two years and I think I’ll be given permission to get another in just a short 7-10 years.

That’s a nice looking rig, however this opens a whole new can of worms. I’m not sure if anyones warned you, but chicks dig a guy with a big boat, it could put a strain on the marrage

Nice boat sir! I got my first boat 6 years ago at the age of 37. I also started out with a pretty nice first boat (Mr Pike 17 with a 115 yama) I still have that boat and like another poster said, I may have it for life. Have fun and by the way your boat looks a little “deep V”. Are you sure you aren’t planning on chasing other fish besides bass?

Gettin’ your first rig is definitely exciting and thanks for letting us share in your latest milestone! However, don’t let these guys mislead you too much…… it’s not the upgrades that require finessing with the better half, it’s convincing them that everyone should own at least 3 boats! You’ll need a flat bottom winter beater for the river and roadside accesses as well as a pontoon for social events!

Of course, I’m only pulling your leg a little but……. we really should have at least 3 rigs, don’t you think???

Enjoy the new toy and c’mon soft water!!!!!

It was a compromise, we have 3 kids and we didn’t want them walking around the deck of a bass boat with 2 inches preventing them from falling in. I absolutely love the layout of this boat, they put a lot of thought into those fishhawks, tons of room up front, big flat rear deck for others, and a nice wide ledge around the boat for kids to lean on when fishing. They even left about 4-5 inches of room on the side of the passenger console to lay rods flat on the deck and slide back along the side for traveling. This will be great for all species, That is Smallmouth bass, and Largemouth Bass

    Jeremy,
Very nice boat, It sure IS a whole lot nicer than my first boat, great for you.
I def recomment hitting pool 4 to get some time on it, and heck there are lots of fish also. Use Evert’s, and Dean and show you where the couple of wingdams are.
    good luck with the boat,
    looks great,
    Jack..

    Jeremy,

Congrats on your new rig! Nothing better than that first boat to call all your own! I bet you are sitting in it as we speak.

Does this mean I will see you up nort in my neck of the woods this summer chasing smallies?

Great boat!! I own the 1750 with a 90 Johnson and I love it. Very smooth ride and it handles those bigger waves just great. Having that Yamaha on there is a nice. Wish Brunswick wouldn’t have said no more Yamaha’s on their boats .
