I am going to install some rod holders in my boat, I think I like the flush mount ones. I’m looking for advice on which ones to buy, there are several different brands, any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Ron

I really like the Ram Rod holders. The Attwood holders are decent too.. and have lots of mount options that are usually available at your local sporting store which is handy. Ramrod and Attwood can use the same base.

Lots of different rod holders out there. I am sure you’ll get just about as many opinions on different ones. The most important thing is they suit your needs. Some are more functional than others.

I use mine for catfishing and trolling and they have treated me well.

I use Scotty’s and they work wonderfully for me. I also use the extension kit for them. It is very handy to have the rod’s rised up 6 inches above the gunnel.
One thing you may want ot check out is rails and rail mount rod holders. This way you can move the holders forward or back on the rails to suit your needs.

I use Ram holders in the bow of my boat because when the holders are not being used, the base is out of the way and will not catch any lines.

I use Scotty’s in the back and have them mounted to the hand rails.

Cabelas quick draws are decent- I also agree with the idea of getting the holder up off the gunnel a little- especially if your trolling!

Thanks for all the info, I think I will go with the Rams, 2 with the extentions for the front of the boat and 2 reg. Rams for the back.
