    I’ve been looking to upgrade from a ’01 90hp 2 stroke Merc.
I can get a 115 E-Tec ( better warranty) or a 115 4 stroke Merc for identical costs vs. a brand new ’03 115 Merc four stroke or an ’05 4 stroke Johnson for a grand less.
What do you think? The more expensive options are both ’06 models

Take the white Johnson all the way, I have a 04 115 4 stroke johnson and love it, My dad has a smaller E-tech but the 4 has less noise and the e-tech stills smells like a 2 stroke.

The Johnson 4-strokes are built by Suzuki. I have the 90HP 4-stroke Suzuki (same power head as the 115). I have nothing but praise for this motor and can say that you will not be dissapointed.

The only disadvantage to the 4-stroke is physical weight. You will not notice the extra weight when it comes to get-up-and-go. The EFI Johnson will pop up out of the hole as well as any other. Acceleration is very clean from any rpm range.

what color is the Johnson? Early advice is pointing me in that direction. I have a buddy who has a Suzuki and that’s one quiet motor. Didn’t know they manufacured the Johnson’s.
