The entire country should see this every night on television.

My understanding is if you live in Minnesota, you WILL be seeing that comercial every night!
Let the election season begin!

John – It was on TV last night. It gave me goose bumps.
Me too!
February 10, 2006 at 2:26 pm #419520When I saw this last night I immediately had 2 thoughts.
1. What a nice change to see, someone standing up for the cause instead of the constant criticism by the media of our presence in Iraq.
2. How do you even begin to counter this ad? This is from the people who have been there.
I suppose you could find some kids that thought they could get a free education out of the government by joining the service and ended up being called on to serve. I have worked and know a few of them and what surprised me is their parents were more upset about them going to Iraq than the kids themselves. The kids knew what they were getting into, just never thought they’d end up in the situation they did, while there parents were hoping they’d get a free education out of the deal……….until the price needs to be paid. Fortunately everyone of them has returned home safely! The election year begins!
And to all who served……….THANK YOU!!!
February 10, 2006 at 3:41 pm #419554I recently was at a social event with a gentlman who had recently returned. After listing to his stories about the bad things that had happened, the bad people, horrible weather, etc. I asked him if he would do it again. His answer without even a hesitation was a resounding “YES”.
To all the veterans who leave there families, friends, and put there lives on the line, you have my utmost respect
Thanks
February 10, 2006 at 4:02 pm #419562Very nice commercial…!!!
My best friend, who also is my cousin, is serving in Iraq- he was/is my main bowhunting/fishing partner- He has been away, for 9 months- and was working with special forces, as per the last report he gave me- He shares the same views as I, and the soldiers in the commercial- I would rather fight them there than here.February 10, 2006 at 4:26 pm #419573Don’t care what political party is promoting this, it’s just time it was done. Everyone I have talked with who has 1st hand experience in Iraq says the media doesn’t have a clue what is going on over there.

I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Thanks to all who have served. Thanks for protecting the freedoms we enjoy, and often times take for granted.February 10, 2006 at 7:50 pm #419632That commercial speeks the truth, something the media knows nothing about. You know if you can’t say anything nice you shouldn’t say anything at all, is what I think of reporters. But then they would all be on unemployment. I too support and would like to say thank you to everyone who has been there or has family or friends there. Thank you so very much for our freedom. you all deserve great praise.

I hear very little criticism of our troops or the job that they are doing. I believe that most people are upset with the current administration’s decision to INVADE a country on weak (at best) intel., that had no WMD’s, no connection Alqeada BEFORE we went in, you know just a couple of little things like that.I suppose you could find some kids that thought they could get a free education out of the government by joining the service and ended up being called on to serve. I have worked and know a few of them and what surprised me is their parents were more upset about them going to Iraq than the kids themselves. All I can say to the above is WOW! I wrote and erased many things because I wanted what I say to not come off as a hot head or something.
YOU are EXTREAMLY insensitive. There are many parents (like me) who would have no trouble putting the kids through school. Yea WE are concerned for our sons and daughters going into battle. You would have to be an IDIOT to not be upset with the idea. You speak as though the soldiers and their families are plotting to rip off the gov. “until the price needs to be paid”.
Ask those who are joining up today if they think there going to get a free ride. No one matter what the outcome of their time in the service if they go into battle they will pay for the rest of their lives. These young men and women are PATRIOTS, not common thieves.BTW In case you didn’t get the drift, I am a proud parent of a soldier in the Army (Recon Battalion).
