St Croix Truimph Rod Designed and imported by St. Croix to our exacting standards.
One of the reason I started buying St Croix rods was that the were all made in the US and they make awesome rods. The Premier is only 20 dollars more and is still US made. Just a heads up.

Dont understand the import thing myself.
They have a great product,i have several myself and it’s the only rod i plan on buying. With a great product and a growing reputation why would you import a rod?

quite honestly, there are VERY few companies that do not import one part or parts for their products here in the good ol usa. it is true, it is about making a profit, or they wouldn’t be around. the trick is to not compromise your quality. give em the benfit of the doubt, i would say.

My only guess as to the motivation would be to introduce the Triumph series allowed them to offer a more cost effective line.

If that’s true, was it necessary?

I’m a big St. Croix fan and will continue to be, but I don’t see the need.

This will be a way to introduce fishermen to the St. Croix brand name who aren’t ready yet to step up to the higher quality rods made by St. Croix. I am a huge fan of their rods. Years ago I use to buy St.Croix rods that had been sent back with broken tips or broken eyelets just so I could have their rods as I couldn’t afford to buy them in the store. Now, years later, my St. Croix rods are Premiers, Avids, Wild River, and also St.Croix Custom made rods from HOF. These are, in my book, all GREAT rods. I plain and simple love St. Croix rods.

    Thanks, Bill

Bill’s post reminded me that if you find yourself up in Park Falls, WI check out the company store. They have a “scratch and dent” bin of rods. Pretty good deals.

I understand what you are saying Bill. I just wish they wouldn’t have had to go off-shore to find an economical blank. I need to get with the times.

Reminds me of when they started making Red Wing Irish Setters over seas.
