Well Bret Clark finally wore me down and convinced me to join IDA instead of just being an anonymous viewer. Now I can add some truth to all of Bret’s stories (just kidding Buddy ) Bret’s a pure fishing machine and a blast to fish with and he almost always, with his “fish sniffer”, puts us on fish plus we’ve known and worked with each other for about 20 years. We have, maybe once or twice, really concerned our wives about our well being (and sanity ) but that’s another story or two! They don’t understand fun or funny and we’re pro’s at both!
I moved with my family to La Crosse in late 1998 and bought Bret’s boat so I could spend some time on the Mississippi. Boy did I have a lot to learn as I’d been pretty much a lake fisherman. Bret followed me up here after a couple of years and we’ve been river rats ever since although he spends more time at it than I do. We manage to get in a couple of musky trips each fall and with his help I caught my first big flathead on one of his all nighters. What a blast!
I’m married and have two grown sons. My other hobbies besides open water and ice fishing is riding my Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic . My wife Bea thins yard work is also one of my favorite hobbies – NOT I’m looking forward to being a member and hopefully a contributing member. I’ve learned a lot just from reading the many posts and reports over the past several years and really enjoy the IDA site and am looking forward to attending some IDA functions in the future. The Mille Lacs outing sounded like a blast.
