Where are the Flats measured from?

anybody know and are they in land miles or nautical miles?

I heard nine mile was nine miles from anywhere on the lake! North, south east and west! Don’t explain 7&8 mile though!

My guess is JLDII, Hook, Bobber, Puddlepounder or Steve Fellegy may know…..

Guy’s what I know is that they are just names that were picked for these Structures. Some were named after launch captains that fished them though the years! I know when Orin Tutt designed the Whiffer Map he had help from alot of “seasoned” Mille Lacs guy’s!!!!!!

Tuck, maybe someday Hook and I will really show you where the “Honey Hole” is located………..it’s found by…..

i was out on shermans flat the other day and it was 9 mles from my house. i really don’t know. the flats that are named in miles, are that many miles from somewhere, but from where i don’t know……….tom fellegy
