Fishing/Sport/Boat show season is upon us. My question is what specifically sparks your interest in attending a seminar. IE: Trolling Cranks,Live Bait Presentations,Tourney techniques, Boat Control,Navigating Mapping etc? What subject makes you want to attend. Thanks for any feedback.

I’ll see your question, and raise you one! What would you guys like to see as far as seminars from IDA staff in the Gander Lodges?

How about “the floccinaucinihilipilification of carrying a rabbits foot in the boat”, for starters?

The main reason I go is to see what is new in lures and electronics. I enjoy just talking to the people that are working as a few are old friends.

Since everybody is too scared to post….I’ve got some topics I’d drive to hear about:
    1) Fishing Plastics…specifically, clear water..what colors, what techniques, what colors of jig heads, etc.
    2) Same questions for murky water
    3) Same questions for a lake vs river fishing
    4) Same questions for drifting a river vs anchoring on a wing dam or hump or rock pile
    5) Let’s talk about flourescent lines in Winter for casting plastics
    6) How to fish super doos vs ringies vs paddle tails
    7) Give us the scoop again..about cloudy days, sunny days, vs light color baits, dark color baits
    8) Best late evening baits and night baits
    9) Best baits for moonl;ess night and for a full moon night
    10) Let’s talk cranks….for daytime and night, specificaly:
    11) Cranks on Mille Lacs at night
    12) Mississippi River Cranks..long lining, 3 way, casting
    13) Hand Lining..what is it, hot to do it, what equipment
    14) Trolling Speeds given clear water, murky, current, breaks, etc.

Ok, enough….how’s this for a starter?

Could you be a little more specific?
Between James, Dee Zee and I, and maybe a few others, we probably have Power Point presentations on a lot of your requests. It pays to have a lot of people willing to show up when we put these on. I would like to work with some Gander folks to have some of the items we speak of “On Sale” during (Preferably after!) our presentations. If you have never been in any of these Gander Lodges, they are a great venue for a bunch of fishing guys to get together and BS. We have some exceptional guides and tournament fishermen on the Pro Staff. We will be having a Pow Wow here shortly. Hopefully, we will get this figured out at Mille Lacs during the GTG next weekend. We will come up with a schedule of which staffer will speak where about what. It should be a lot of fun for all. Each event will be followed up by a Q&A.
    Stay tuned for more updates.

Do you guys think you will make it out of the Twin Cities area? There are a lot of us that are from other places and we have Gander stores too I would love to hear a presentation on all the topics posted above, specifically plastics and cranks on the river

You might get stuck with the likes of Slop Bass!
He really does look like his avitar…It would kind of suck if a mime did the presentation!
    We will work something out.

Tuck, could you post your notes, in abreviated form, of the salient points for those of us that missed the seminar?

    Tuck!

    Great idea!!!

Jarrad’s seminar on wing-dams would be awesome to attend.

Maybe a breakdown of the Mastering plastics for River eyes would be a biggy? With you, Holst, Stewart, and Deezee each giving a segment of the class???

Personally, I would like to spread us out, but anything is possible. If we would get a committment for a big turn out at any given place, it may be an idea. We would have to work around Dustin’s schedule!
