What is your species of choice? That makes a big difference. Otherwise you can never go wrong with cranks? I like the glass series.

January 11, 2006 at 6:27 pm #411029Fishing early spring and late fall means cold weather. I just picked up some of their fleece lined Glacier Gloves for spring and fall fishing. I got some other cold weather fishing gear as well. I figure I’ve added another week or two of fishing in the fall.
January 11, 2006 at 6:29 pm #411030Some items that are on sale, so you can get more for your money!
January 11, 2006 at 6:40 pm #411032$200.00 WOULD BE A GOOD CHUCK OF SOMETHING YOU REALLY WOULD LIKE TO BUY, LIKE, A GPS, UNDERWATER CAMERA, OR FLASHER ECT?
JUST A THOUGHT,
January 11, 2006 at 7:16 pm #411042Under Armour!! I just got my first set for cold weather. Only wore them once, but already planning for the next purchase.
January 11, 2006 at 7:49 pm #411048I bet you could get an Avid jigging rod and a reel for around $200.00.
January 11, 2006 at 7:52 pm #411049When I get gift cards from Cabelas or Gander, I look for things I don’t buy but wish I had. Things like fishing clothes or books or new boots. Things like rods and tackle I can cheaper else where.
January 11, 2006 at 7:54 pm #411050A Flasher (Marcum if you asked me )
Or my Second best Idea, and automatic inflatable life jacket, so comfortable to wear you won’t know your wearing it 3 minutes later. Safety is always a good choice. I bought one a couple years ago, I fish alone quite a bit, so I figure it’s really money well spent.
Not to mention it should leave you a little money to play with.
and as someone else mentioned a GPS isn’t a bad idea either, one that takes lake maps.
roosterrousterInactiveThe "IGH"...Posts: 2092January 11, 2006 at 7:58 pm #411051Check out the Cabelas online. Go to their “Bargain Room”. They have a wool sweater called a Trek-Tech that is the warmest piece of clothing I have ever worn. I own three and it is the only thing I wear under my hunting/fishing coats. Other great deals in the bargain room also…RR
January 11, 2006 at 9:22 pm #411077Mack, you would probably pick the Burgundy. Me now, I would pick the “Light Olive”
January 12, 2006 at 12:03 am #411095I didn’t even notice the sweater. All I saw was the long hair and the nice eyes
January 12, 2006 at 12:30 am #411106Hook, This may sound odd to you, (It’s even hard to for me to write) but what you should do is buy a jacket for your wife or girlfriend.
Yea, I know it sounds crazy, but you gotta follow this logic. You see, what will happen is your wife or girl will appreciate this “sacrifice” so much, that in the future, it will be much easier for you to allocate funds for future purchases. You see, by using the gift cards on your wife or girl, you are making an investment in the future – that will pay off over the years in rod lockers full of GLoomis, St Croix, and Shimmano.
January 12, 2006 at 1:47 am #411118ive got a locker full of loomis’s im thinking of upgrading my reels being that i have cheaper reals on them.
Im thinking of getting new rain gear but then i could use a new gps as well heh its like a kid in a candy store.
I could use a new trolling rod and reel as well.
being that i fish the river the most what is something that you could never do with out on the river?
January 12, 2006 at 2:31 am #411129I have found that it is alot easier to just buy whatever you need for yourself . Besides, it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission!!
