Recently bought the lake master MN. map chip,I am very pleased with the general results of my 100 dollar investment, but am wondering a couple simple questions,is my gps just old and slow,or does it always take 10-20 seconds for the depths to come up on my gps?<loads like i am on dial-up> And is there any way to view the map chip on my computer since my gps loads so slow, and would like to look at some of the lake maps without it taking 2 hours, and what do I need to buy for my computer to do that?

My Garmin 188 takes about that long to load, but once up, everything is there really fast.

Loads up on my iFinder H2O in less than 5 seconds. I also have the Lakemaster software on my PC but the CD ROM version. Did not upload from the chip. Typically I use the PC to check things out and just use the GPS on manuever around on the water.

There is no way to use the chip to view maps on your pc. Lake master has software for that. I think the software is a must. It allows you to see the full picture of hundreds of lakes.

I have the same thing!!!!! It works great to check out an area that you my want to fish ahead of time! I can sit at my PC and look for future fishing spots and watch the TV right next to the monitor……..watching whatever is on the tube!! Just gota love it!!!!

Many of the outdoor shops carry it if you would rather pick it up. It cannot be downloaded though.

You will need Mapcreate to export your Lowrance waypoints as .txt files so Lakemaster can import them. Doc Samson
