So I’m getting a Lakemaster MN chip and I’m wondering if there is a way to download or at least view the lake maps on my PC. Can the MapCreate software do this sort of thing? If not are their other options to actually be able to see these awesome lake maps on the pc?

The only way to do it is buy the Lakemaster maps on a disc and load it on your computer.

You can view the Lowrance Lakemaster chip on your PC via the Lowrance Data Card Reader that comes with Mapcreate Accessory Pack. You will need to download an emulator, free at http://www.lowrance.com in order to view the maps on your PC.

Ditto with Skindog. I own LakeMaster ProMap Dakota’s and ProMap Minnesota. You must own the PC Software version to view them on your PC.

Well, I called to confirm this with Jeff at Lakemaster today. Call Lakemaster yourself at (320) 632-6300. I’ve also talked to other guys who are already viewing their lakemaster chip on their PC via the Lowrance Data Card Reader. Although Navionics advices against it, I understand you can also do the same with their chip. The problem is that some guys have tried to load data to the chip and lost their map data. So, if you are trying this with a Navionics chip, be careful.
