Some of my thoughts on the “few”
The people of this country were told that Iraq was building nukes to threaten the world.

The people of this country were told that Iraq was training and harboring terrorists that blew-up the Trade Center.

The people of this country were told that Saddam was planning chemical attacks around the world.

None of these things have been proven, even to this day. Those “few” that made those statements are the ones I am speaking of. Were they politicians, yes they were..Thus “the politics of a few”….

If I am wrong in these thoughts, then, YOU give me evidence that I am wrong.

I appreciate your thoughts and feelings. As for the distortion of facts, well all I can say is this, having a degree in history has taken me through many avenues of the “truth”, and lets just say there are many bumps in that road. The truth isn’t always what really happened, it is only that to which many have been told to be the truth. Distortions are, as you have stated “propaganda”, it all depends on who’s distortions you choose to think of as “the truth”, then everything else is propaganda.

It is funny that we are now going to the church thing. I read this about distortions and propaganda and the first thing that came to mind was religion, but I was not going to open that can of worms. I see this distortion/propaganda the same as religion. Someone passed stories down and some believe and some don’t. Lets take a look at the bible, did that stuff happen, well sure it did. Was it all facts?? Well chances are the answer is no, someone put this together based on what they were told and or what they remembered. We all have a different take on things, even if we were to witness the same thing at the same time, my take on the story/ or sequence of events may differ from someone elses. Now today there are large goups of people that are calling themselves christians and believe 100% in what they read in the bible and that is how they live their lives. Now back to the topic at hand. History is full of distortions and propaganda and people are living their lives based on someone elses stories told years and years ago. If you choose to have faith in something great, if you don’t that is fine with me too. We all have the right to believe what we want, and we all have the right to voice our opinions. That my freinds is the beauty of living in our wonderful society

    Thank you for clarifying.

So the “few” is the entire US Congress (including, Clintonx2, Kerry, Kennedy, etc etc etc), Executive Branch, NATO, UN and anyone with a TV or radio.

Merry Xmas to all, and to all a good night.

This all began as a tribute to the fine people in our armed forces and someone has turned it into a free-for-all. HMMM–sounds like politics—————from BOTH sides.

Gary, That’s the first time I’ve ever stood up and saluted my monitor. And not just a salute, a smart Marine Salute, thank you.

My students are really no concern of yours. As for your post about them…I feel that is questionable on your part. If you want to attack me, then attack, but leave my students out of it.

Students should be a concern of all of us. What kind of statement is this Parents should be very concerned with what is said in a class room these days, better yet, we should all be concern about what can’t be said in a class room. Dear Lord Jesus, help us all!!!

Should people be concerned about Colorado school teacher Ward Churchill’s students? At least they are old enough to recognize when facts are colored by remarks that minimize the idea.

    They did recognize the facts.

Middle school children are very impressionable. I am still a parent that likes to have the leading influence on my kids. If I get it then, I will have it as long as they are growing up.

    Just my 2 cents.

Not necessarily! Age and the ability to think independantly are not necessarily directly related! For some it takes time in the real world to get beyond the adulation of their college professors and their politics to gain the ability to reason for themselves! Some never do! It took me until about age 25, but fortunately, I emerged from the fog!

Guys please today is Christmas day can we please just let this one rest, the whole idea of this post was whether you agree with the war or not is too remember our troops who can not be home during this holiday season. I am not a moderator here but if I was I would lock this one up as there is nothing else that needs to be said. So please lets just let this one die.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year too one and all!!!
