No I’m not going to post any pictures!

A few minutes ago I went outside with “the boys”.

I found a about a 100 square foot area covered with dark purple bird….stuff!
We have sometype of berry bush in the backyard that has these little “blue berries” on it and I’m sure that’s where it came from…well, before it was in the birds.

I looked in the near by tree tops and spied about a dozen Cedar Wax Wings and another dozen Robins perched below the Wax Wings. No doubt these are the….offenders.

Besides getting rid of the bush this spring…

How do I get this stuff off my cement tiled patio? The truck can go to the car wash…but the side of the house and patio is…well pretty disgusting!

Most of it’s froze on already, using a push broom…some came off but all I really did was put purple die on the push broom.

    Any thoughts?

Pressure wash it in the spring. The waxwings wont last long. They can mow down a tree in a day and there gone..

7 1/2 shot should take care of it and make for a fun afternoon …..We have the same problem here at the office. The building is white and is now covered in purple/black spots.

Nothing I can do about the “stuff” on the patio now?

I was expecting…”couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy” response…

I would try bleach/water/Michelobe Golden Draft Lite.

Mix the water and bleach, and use it on the stains. It takes deer blood off my garage floor very well. Drink the beer while yelling at the birds. It will give your neighbors something to talk about this winter.

    Like they need a reason!

Note to self…Get Putz purple berried bushes for Christmas

Now that was good baldorman! And your first post too!

Welcome to IDA…home of the smart

EG, anyway to clean it off without it freezing? It’s right in front of our main door…and I just found out…all the way down the driveway to my mail box.

I stand corrected…there’s about 10 dozen robins in the evergreens! Didn’t anyone tell them they should have been gone south in October!?

What Tuck said, except skip steps one and two go directly to three, but use captain morgan. You will get quicker to the point you are trying to make with the birds. It’s to cold outside to be there any longer than need be.

    Are they wearing bullet-proof vest?

I think the only way your going to get that crap(literally) off your patio is if you use hot water to thaw it out and some type of cleaner in it(maybe dawn dish soap). I would stay away from heavy chemicals if you can because it may mess with the color of the patio.

Soak a mop in Lutfisk slop and mop it up, then quickly rinse with water as that stuff with eat concrete. Then shoot the birds.

If the patio plocks are brick, the bleach won’t affect them. Just don’t go overboard with the bleach. A half cup to a gallon should be fine. It is supposed to get warm Saturday, maybe try it then, or go out with a bunch of salt first. Has this ever happened before?

I occasionally get pooped on…but NOTHING like this! I’m worried that the boys will get it on there paws and track it into my wifes burnt carpeting.

I’m going to have to try the salt/beach/hot water…I guess.

‘spose I could leave it for the wife…naa…I might not be her favorite husband any longer.

I might try the dawn first…but I’m thinking it won’t be strong enough….

Any chemist out there? Salt/bleach/dawn mixture doesn’t make a poison gas does it?

Hey! Isn’t that what Putz uses for Lute?

Just get the driver out…. set up a half dozen tees with golf balls. Start swinging like a madman trying to hit those darn little golf balls. The birds will die of laughter and fall out of the trees.

First you have to stop the source of the doo-doo. I would recommend some tiny (micro) corks.

    Hey, wait a minute, I’m a chemist!

Salt/dawn/bleach is fine. Just don’t do bleach and drain cleaner or bleach and muriatic acid.

Brian, a word to the wise! This situation reminds me of an old story about a messy Fhoo Bird where disaster fell upon anyone cleaning up after it! The moral of the joke as I recall was “If the ‘Shoe Fits’, wear it” or something like that.

Step 1) Invite a bunch of IDA’ers over for a cook out.
Step 2) Spill beer over the area you want to clean. It will be spit shined in no time

They beat me to it but I would go to one of the Lutheren churches that has a lutey feed and get the water they rinse the fish with and heat it at home. Wash everything with it and the birds, the crap, and the wife will all be gone in one fell swoop.
