I had the pleasure of fishing with a fellow 3M’er today on pool 4. Greg Peterka (AKA turk802) While the wind was howeling down river,we snuggled up behind the dam a little bit and it paid off. We hit the water about 11:00 and quit at 3:00 because the wind was raw and I had to get home and clean the house before the wife got home! But that’s another story! We started dropping Chartruse Pepper doo’s at them with minimal success. So I switched over to a Bright pink Doo on an Orange H20 Jig head and SMACK! Those were some hungry sauger! We kept 6 and lost a couple that could have went in the box,But that’s the way it goes! I even had 1 that would have been well over the 4# mark that went back! Those fish are like footballs and are on a feeding frenzie! I have to wait a week ,but if you can stand the cold……Get yourself an assortment of Super Doo’s and have a blast!

Thanks for the update on P4November 24, 2005 at 12:21 am #398955Robert, no student of mine should talk about his job like that. Would you rather be back in 4th grade……..
November 24, 2005 at 1:40 am #398974I put my 2- 12 hour Midnights in this week! And your right………It sucked! I off to bed.
November 24, 2005 at 2:36 pm #399021TBO? I think it’s too late to fail him!
I think yesterday and today are a couple of those days where it’s better to be inside THINKING about fishing than being out there “DOOING” it…
November 24, 2005 at 3:55 pm #399036I could never fail that young man, he was a good student, and better yet, a great person..Just messing with him…that’s my job now.
November 24, 2005 at 5:43 pm #399051I fished with Fluggy and his wife here from the website. As others said, the AM was beautiful with the light winds but the afternoon was brutal. We stayed on the fish pretty good all day though and ended up with 46 or 47 legals for the day (we kinda lost track towards the end.) with ringworms and paddletails just basically stomping the crud out of the fish. The plastic bite is strong now. When the sun was out anything with chartreuse in the bait took fish… chartreuse pepper ringies and paddletails, bleeding gold chartruese paddletails, etc. When the sun disappeared in the afternoon the fish wanted plain purple ringies on purple heads. IF you werne’t fishing that EXACT cobmo all you got to do was watch Fluggy catch fish. Even a purple head with a purple white tail or chartreuse tail came up with very few fish in comparison. For a couple hours Fluggy was putting on quite the show as he had the “spot on the spot” and would hit flurries with 3 – 5 fish coming to boat in a couple minutes.
It may have been crazy-windy but the number and quality of the fish sure help make it tolerable. For those heading down after thanksgiving you should be able to expect a VERY good bite.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
November 30, 2005 at 11:36 pm #400210Joe thanks for the kind words. I just have a little problem with work. It seem to get in the way with my hunting and fishing. To be honest I was told that I need some help for my addiction, but that was just one mans view. …Joe we need to get back on the water together sometime soon. I sure had a blast last time. As far as going back to 4th grade.. I think I would be all for that. I know I spent a lot more time fishing back then, it was just from shore on Golden.
