It does look like it may warm up some by the weekend… warm enough to sneak out for a night out on the pond but tonight would be misery.

I plan to fish Thursday, Friday, & Saturday nights. I have been busy figuring out how many layers of clothes and jackets I can fit under my Goretex rain gear & still zip it up. Hope the walleyes are still on the prowl!

I have been known to put the ice shack heater in my boat Might hit the lake sunday for muskies, I’ll have to shovel the inside of the boat out first though.

I might give it a try if it stays above freezing maybe Sunday. If it dips to much below freezing lines start iceing up and things tend not to go well.Good luck to ya if you make it out and boat traffic should be WAY down.Looking at the forcast you may want to bring 2 heaters and an ice chisel.

I was up Saturday, and the bite was slooooow! (Day time)

The tulibe’s have moved up onto the reefs, which most of the time means the walleye bite is pretty much over.

If you’ve never had to use a screwdriver to pry your frozen landing net up off the floor of your boat… you just haven’t lived… lol

Last year I went to reel in my line and it tore most of the guides off the rod.I think we left shortly after that

    Tuck and James,

Am not really sure what most guys eat while they are up on ML, but sounds like you TWO REALLY know how to party.

NO GIRLy men around IDA staffer parties, I’d say.

I’ve taken my coveralls off and wrapped them around my trolling motor to melt the ice so I could use it. I got cold as my motor got warm.

Jack, remember the old saying, “Anything is good when it sits on a Ritz!”
This would be testing that theory!

Just back in from my trip to Brainerd!!!

The access on Pikes Point is open…….in fact there were two rig’s sitting there. I also saw two boats out on the Garrison Reef…….you had to take a second look as they looked like ice fisherman with the steam/fog coming off the warm water…….the water is warmer than our air temp today. Looking out there……..made me feel ok about having stored the boat. I’m ready to hit the ice with the atv and Otter!!!!!!!!

    Come on ice.

Thanks for the update Bobber! We will be heading up there in a couple of hours and will either put in at Pikes Point or Casino Bay. I am going to bring some sand along just in case the ramps are icy.
