What Gift If Hospitalized

We are in this situation now and need to get this hospitalized fisherman a gift. My wife and daughter think he already has more than enough fishing equipment and believe he would better appreciate flowers or a plant.

    Thanks for your opinions,

Flowers can be cheery for anyone. Not just woman. Some outdoors magazines would be nice for someone layed up.

When my brother got into his car wreck years back, we supplied him with a box of reading magazines to read…..

you can’t go wrong with some hunting/fishing magazines. Those hospital rooms are horrible boring, and you can only watch so much daytime TV.

If you want to go with something else, He problably has a lot of fishing stuff, but I can always use some more good stuff. A guy just can’t have enough cranks.

I have been hospitalized for more than a year of my life.. most was one long stretch of about a year.

A gift.. thats a tough one. I guess it really depends how long the person is going to be laid up in the hospital. If its going to be a while.. something to help pass the time might be best. If its going to be a short lived visit.. then something to look forward to when they get out of the hospital would be best.

Something that would be of use in and out of the hospital? That would be best. I guess a good question is.. Is this person going to have limited mobility once home for a while? A magazine only offers so much entertainment.

visits are more appreciated than anything when stuck.. something to do when there are no visitors can be priceless.

Any fishing games for a Game Boy out there?

that’s exactly what I was going to say. Dave, how did your wife and you decide he has “too much”?

I don’t believe there is such a thing. get the person a Cabela’s gift card. can’t go wrong with that.

You can’t go wrong with a gift certificate to Cabela’s, but some good magazines are definately nice

Has to be hunting and fishing magazines. He needs something to do to pass time and if he loves fishing then reading alot of fishing mags is great. = Its doing something that he loves to do and learning more about fishing is a keeper.
    Thanks, Bill

If theres a vcr then fishing tapes too.

No such thing as “enough” fishing stuff. Magazines, books, snacks, and hand held games like poker or a fishing game maybe. Gameboy worked wonders for me last time I spent a while in the shop for surgery.

Some Patrick F McManus books, although he may laugh so hard that it will pull the stitches out.

How about a subscription to Outdoor News, or a mag of your (Or his) choice! The gift that keeps on giving!
    Good luck to your friend!
