What the hell is a “night romp”
My guess: A “day romp” in the dark!
I had the patch years ago and my blood pressure dropped so low the Doc took me off it. Finally, the nicotine gum ended up working best for me.
JAN 1 2006 WILL BE 1YR FOR ME SINCE I QUIT . I JUST DECIDED I HAD ENOUGH , HAVENT PICKED ONE UP SINCE OR NEVER EVEN CARED TO .. DONT GET ME WRONG IT WAS HARD ! THE FIRST 60 DAYS IS THE TRUE TEST AFTER THAT YOUR GOOD … BUT I FEEL YOU REALLY HAVE TO WANNA QUIT OR NOTHING YOU DO WILL WORK PATHCHES, GUM , HYPNOSIS NOTHING WILL WORK UNLESS YOU REALLY WANNA QUIT ….. JUS A THOUGHT
4 days and going strong. I even hit the bar tues. Its not easy but the patch definately takes the edge off. I don’t get very good sleep at night but I’ve already had some crazy dreams to brag about….holy crap! You guys were right about that! Can’t wait to fall asleep tonight.
Two weeks guys, I can hardly beleive it. I just saw the quitting chewing thread. I just want to be an inspiration. there aren’t many people who want to conitinue to smoke or chew. I actually quit using the patch. It really took the edge off but now theres no edge. If it ever gets bad, I’m sure I’ll throw one on.
Keep it going Matt!!!
I talked to my Doc the other day about stopping…told her the patch doesn’t work for me…instead of a patch…I need a blanket!!!!!
Heading towards year number 3. It does get easier when you stop thinking about it so much.
The true acid test is to see if you can have a few and not smoke! I check my resolve every night!
Man o Man,… 3 weeks gone by so fast. I eat as much as 3 marines. I actually used up my 2 weeks worth of patches and haven’t been using any. I will say that the patch really took the edge off. Now that I’m out of em, I get a little edgy. NOw that I’ve made it this far it would be a shame to start again. I feel better, have more energy, I can taste and smell better. The things I’m realy proud of are maing it through deer season, and I still go the bars. The thing that really helped me is my mints. I like altoid mints. And for some reason altoids go well with johnny walker and captain morgan. You would think that would be an awful combo but I like it. Amazing I went from 1.5 packs per day for 10yrs to nothing. I don’t even realize the money I’m saving. But I just figured if I spent $40. per week on smokes. Thats like 10 more drinks on the weekend. Man I might have to switch to crown royal.
WAY TO GO DUDE ! I just quit 5 weeks ago after almost 26 years of smoking. My motivation was whne my girlfriend was diagnosed with Emphazima sp ?. Prior to that I had tried to seriously quit 3 times and it was hell !
This time was pretty easy actualy considering I was pushing 2 1/2 packs a day.
Anyways , I thought I’d try quitting just to see if I could. It’s going GREAT so far. I could be around smokers the day I quit no problem and still can.
I used/use the Nicotine gum as a crutch. Tho it’s not a cig it does cut the edge.
Here’s a tip on the gum. It tastes like crap ! What I do is wrap a piece of sugarless gum around it when I pop it in my mouth. So far it’s worked great. I also use the cheaper K-Mart brand over Nicorette. It’s almost half the price.
I feel great , have more energy and rarely crave a grit. Unfortunately I’m gaining weight but compared to the risks from smoking I can live with that … for now.
I REALLY did’nt think I had it in me to quit but I did. Just lucky I guess.
As for $ saved I’m WAY ahead of the game so far. So much so I’m going to order a new bow mount for my boat and a new Tourney Legend IF Santa don’t come through for me. LOL
GOOD LUCK and CONGRATS to all you folks who have quit or are thinking about quitting !!!!!!
Matt and Geeman, way to go! Cravings will haunt you for awhile but should diminish in frequency and intensity! You Can DOOOOOOO It!
