Spent some unscheduled time in IA myself, but not for very long once I realized I had wandered, through needlessness, across the border! Also wandered out of MN while under the hail of domestic gunfire 21 years ago, and I am still here and here I shall remain without cheese on my dome! !

I’d like to try that flathead thing once my buddy has several in the 50-60 range hes converted to muskies now and with him living in Des Moines thats to far for me to go for a kitty fish, Maybe I can get him to get his cat boat fixed up and make a trip up to the MN next year ( he rolled his on a trip home from up here last fall) Gotta make sure and do the trip when the mayflies are out no use going if its enjoyable

Is that what happens when you move to Des Moines…convert to Muskies? Wonder if that’s what happened to Gary, Bob B and that Larson charactor?

Anyway….there’s this guy in PDC WI, that has an IDA Get Together every year…sometime around the end of January when the ice is thick enough to keep my dry. Because of the ice thickness question..we really don’t know exactly when it will be. BUT, you’ll have to get ol’man Ryan and the boys together and make the jaunt over. You’ll get to meet a bunch of IDA folk, get in a little fishing and a laugh or two. Hopefully we’ll be able to keep Chappy away from the grill and Putz grilling. Fishing Machine might bring some pickled northeren…if we all talk nice to her. Sal and Catfishgirl will keep Fishing Machine AND Herb out of trouble. I’m not sure who’s young enough to keep an eye on Gator Hunter, Buckshot and Pusscakes…maybe Jake…although he crapped out early last year. Jez there was a bunch don’t there…Emover? Who am I forgetting!

But it’s a great time. Hotel room, with a Get Together room…for talking or Jon J’s card parties…

Ok…I’m rambleing…but try to keep those last 3 weekends open for the notice, if you can! After I buy Slop and D-nort a beer…I’ll have one with you.

C’mon Brian, CFG and I are a pretty good team. Where would you get your fine dress boodwaa without my partner there. Besides, she has shown me the light and I haven’t been censored on this forum since…… ah….. the llamas and donkeys in Afton?

Welcome aboard, Shaley. These are good people even if they tend to pick on me a bit.

Shaley, please don’t ask him about his animals in the open forum!

Last time I was out fishing with him until the wee hours of the morning…he sang (if you could call it that) O’de to Lutifisk…all the way to the Prescot landing….the police followed ME home!

    YES WE DO
But I am ok with that. Thats what fishing is for. And when thinks start getting goofy around here, well then you know it’s time to be medicated with a trip out on the water.

I’m along way from IL but if you dont mind traveling we have great fishing here for just about anything you want. Walleye, LM and Smallies, perch, northern and muskies, monster gills through the ice ( dont target them on soft water ) and a few other oddball species. Late May Early June can be amazing walleye fishing some days 100 fish per angler. with the mix of smallmouth and an occasional musky. If you ever decide to come this far let me know theres lots of great camping and hotels around.
