I have the Sunday, Oct 23rd booked with James Holst on Mille Lacs. I had a post earlier about this and it was taken immediately. Now he won’t be able to make it. So I’m reposting. So know I have 1 or 2 seats open. So the cost is either half or a third.

PM me if you have questions or are interested.

    Thanks.

It is stange that as often as not folks hire guides that can’t make it. Sorry for once again being so critical but my son and I have booked five guides over the past 10 years or so and three backed out. Unfortunately, the replacements were horrible; heck, one didn’t even know how to anchor without having the boat slip away on a the Red River in Manitoba.

The two good ones were a guy on Lac Suel who helped us catch the bigger Walleyes and a fellow from Lake City that does not participate on this board.

Actually the guide didn’t back out. I’m posting for someone to go in on it with me because the other guy I was partnering up with had something come up with work. So this is just a posting to join me on the trip (and help pay ).

If you book me I show up. Unfortunately Steve couldn’t make it this trip… I was looking forward to fishing with him!

    James,

I wrote a long response which didn’t take but the bottom line is this. When you drive from Milwaukee, WI. to Selkirk Manitoba and the guide sends a replacement that doesn’t even know how to anchor on a river there is a problem. Stu would have been a better choice with one of his rental boats. Anyway, my luck with guides has been very mixed and this is not the only example.

On the other hand, a few friends of mine have retired in the Lake City, Pepin, WI. area, and I have strongly recommended you and Dustin. So like anything else from doctors to car mechanics I guess you just keeping looking for the best. Again, from everything I heard you guys are first class, so my concerns about guide services should have been a seperate topic.

got a call Friday morning from a very good client of mine who is “popping” in for a visit on the 24th. I have to pick him up at the airport very early that morning. I am sick to death over it and hated cancelling. I hope you fill that up.
H20, I’ll be in touch for a spring P4 trip. I was looking forward to you showing me the ropes on the “pond” and meeting a potential future fishing partner. Oh yeah, I was also looking forward to tangling with a 26″ plus walleye also.

    Steve.

We’ll have to try it again sometime. Actually I’m really mad so you’ll have to take me on the St. Croix this spring to make up for it.
